Hello, everybody! I have been a guide for over 20 years and still love to tour the island with our visitors. I am proud of the island where I was born and have been living all my life, except for a few years at the university, one year in Cardiff and a summer in Norway to guide the cruise passengers. There are many beautiful places all over the world and Lanzarote is really a unique landscape. Until the 50's our main concern was to survive, many emigrated to America and did not return. In those days we did not know the potential of Lanzarote as a holiday destination. We learned it later when César Manrique taught us to see the beauty of a volcanic stone, to value our local agriculture and architecture and encouraged us to protect the island's landscape for future generations. After all, Lanzarote is our home. I look forward to showing the beauties and share my love for Lanzarote with you. Angela. Overview of your Lanzarote tour
Lanzarote has been my family's home for more than 6 generations. Nowadays, mine and my children's generation are enjoying the results of the labour of our grandparents, who always looked up to the sky desiring some rain. With determination, they survived respecting the landscape, using the resources to make the fields of cultivation, and suffering the eruptions of the volcanoes, which created a landscape that makes Lanzarote different from other tourist destinations. My family always lived from agriculture, that's why we know how difficult is to survive here, where water is scarce. However the agriculture left wonderful landscapes like the vines unique in the world. This, together with the fact that we started tourism very late, at the end of the 60s, makes Lanzarote a very peculiar island, with great landscapes that change as we go round it. An island that has been developing over the last 50 years, learning from our mistakes and respecting the landscape and the legacy of our grandparents.
