Grand Tour: Lanzarote Highlights

Angela provided us with a fantastic and wonderful tour. She picked us up at our cruise ship and we immediately headed to the lava fields. It was almost unbelievable as we drove past the fields; they seemingly went on as far as you could see in every direction. They we got to the Park, paid our admission and she helped us on the the bus that took us on a tour that further explored the inside of the park and stopped at strategic photo spots. After the bus ride we ate a great lunch at the restaurant up to that offered a panoramic view and great food. We saw a fire demonstration of how HOT the rocks were just a few feet below us. All of this was great- but there was more beautiful scenery to come. We went to the other side of the island and got great views and pictures from high above. She took us to the Lava tube and we walked through it stopping along the way for even more photos. This was a great tour and Angela knew just where to take us to make sure we enjoyed all of the lovely and breathtaking scenery!’

We had an amazing day with Angela! She picked us up as early as possible from our cruise ship and we went straight to Timanfaya national park to beat the crowds, which was perfect! On the way, she told us all about the history of the island, which is entirely volcanic. We stopped at several other sights on that side of the island before going to the Jameos del Aqua, which was amazing. She was very accommodating and even stopped to pick up 2 other cruise passengers who wanted to join us for the second half of the day. She also gave us some recommendations for where to stay if we come back to stay longer. Highly recommend a tour with her for the day or longer!

Nick was a wonderful guide and host. He was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out amazing lanzorate sites. We were a bit surprised however when we were not met by Angela, the guide with whom i made my arrangements back in august. Nor was i informed of the change in guides. Our one message with her did not mention the change. And my whatsApp messages to her went unanswered on the day of the tour to confirm our meeting spot. If not for the driver waving at us, we would have had no idea where to find the car!! And no Angela. Having used Tours by Locals for more than 10 years for all of our travels, this has never happened before and was quite surprising.

Angela was gret. She spoke very good English and was full of local information and history that she readily shared with us. She kept us on track so we could make it to everything on our list. I would recommend her to any one looking for a private or small group tour.

We had a great time today with Nick! He and our very professional and safe driver Christina and they both got us to all of the lanzarote highlights during the day. Nick is extremely knowledgeable, professional and willing to adapt! You should absolutely take this tour!

Daniel was a fantastic guide; very knowledgeable on the geologic aspects of the National Park. He really tailored our tour to meet our group of 8’ interests and needs!
