Overview of your Lisbon tour
Discover Sintra, its palaces and monuments. One of the favorite places of the Portuguese royal family, this enchanting place is surrounded by nature, history and mysticism. Considered one of the birthplaces of romanticism in the country, this site was greatly appreciated by famous characters such as Lord Byron and William Beckford. Throughout this itinerary, you will discover some of the main attractions, such as the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. You will also visit Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and the town of Caiscais, formerly a fishing village and currently one of the most famous summer resorts in Portugal.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
The trip to Sintra, from Lisbon, takes around 45 minutes and you will start the day by visiting the Pena Palace. This enigmatic construction attracts everyone with its multiple colors and architectural styles. Then, you will head to the center of Sintra, where you can walk through the medieval streets, exploring some of its rich commerce and gastronomy. The tour continues towards Quinta da Regaleira, a unique construction that stands out in the local landscape. This is where the famous Initiatory Well is located, an inverted tower, 40 meters deep, through which you will be able to pass. The next stop is at the westernmost point of the European continent, Cabo da Roca, where you will be able to contemplate the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. The last stop will be in the city center of Caiscais, a former fishing village which now is one of the best-known summer destinations in Portugal.
