Olá! My name is Bruno, I'm 41. I was born in Sintra, the most beautiful town in Portugal! As biased as I may sound, I grew up with my grandparents in the countryside. They were very passionate people from the North of Portugal and always showed me how beautiful it is when you let yourself go and fall in love with the place you live. Growing up with my grandparents, who used to sell bread door to door on a bike, interacting with people daily was in their DNA. By tagging along with them and doing simple things like going to a local food market, I was always amazed at how they interacted with everyone, from vendors to friends. I feel that was the spark I needed to thoroughly enjoy being with people and having this impending need to socialize and be in touch with the human side of everyone that I meet. I do love the history, sights, and culture of my beautiful country, but I feel like connecting with people on a more human level is what brings me joy as a tour guide. With that in mind, I decided to accept the challenge of being part of ToursByLocals. We will not only discover the vast history of Portugal but also visit places that hold a special place in my heart, filled with fond memories from my younger days when my grandparents used to take me there. This is something I believe I can best achieve through private tours, which is why I chose to partner with ToursByLocals—a place I consider 'by people, for people. ' It's a pleasure to be part of such a great community, and as one of my favorite quotes states: 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. ' So, if you ever find yourself going to Sintra, Lisbon or surrounding areas, it would be my pleasure to show you around and spend the day unraveling places from my childhood and the time of kings. 3 year study in Tourism Information degree at Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies Tour Company and Legal Licenses: I own and operate an approved tour company licensed by Turismo de Portugal I.P. and possess all the necessary legal licenses to operate as a tour guide in Portugal. Insurance Coverage: All tours are covered by Civil Liability and Personal Accidents insurance. No restrictions

Overview of your Sintra tour

“Today is the happiest day of my life. Sintra is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.” — Richard Strauss Sintra is more than a destination; it's a story waiting to be shared. It's my hometown, the place I grew up, and the heart of my fondest memories. I invite you to explore Sintra with me, not as a typical guide, but as a friend. Discovering not just where kings once roamed, but places where I spent my childhood. In one unforgettable day, we’ll wander through the fairytale atmosphere of Pena Palace, explore Sintra’s historic center, taste its famous pastries, and continue all the way to the elegant beach town of Cascais. Along the way, you’ll stand at Cabo da Roca, once believed by the Romans to be the end of the world and visit the beauty of the Guincho Beach. HIGHLIGHTS ✔️ Guided visit of Pena Palace (or another monument of your choice) ✔️ Spend your day with a local friend ✔️ Taste Sintra’s iconic pastries ✔️ Cabo da Roca & Guincho Beach ✔️ Free time to stroll through the town of Cascais

This review is long overdue! Our time with Bruno was a highlight of our trip. His local knowledge was incredible and the details he shared both from a historical perspective as well as general visual observations were insightful. We learned so much and truly would have never seen some of the significant details on our own. Bruno is extremely personable and it is obvious that his peers respect him as well. We really appreciated his flexibility, customer service and he is very charismatic, so it was fun to spend the day with him. We highly recommend Bruno and what experience he offers.

Bruno was a true professional and at the same time he made us feel like family. He was knowledgeable, attentive and just a wonderful person. We spent our 25th anniversary with him and he booked us the most exquisite lunch at the end of the tour. Perfect from beginning to end. Thank you Bruno, we won’t forget you and hope to see you again!

We had an outstanding tour with Bruno. He has deep historical and cultural knowledge and a fantastic command of English. He tailored the tour to meet our requests, and packed many things into our day. He made many excellent suggestions of what shops to visit, food to try, etc. His vehicle was extremely comfortable and he was a very safe driver. He is also very engaging and a lot of fun to be with. We highly recommend Bruno!

Bruno was the best! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about Portugal. We learned so much and had a great time. We especially loved the old town in Sintra and Cascais. Bruno even made a lunch reservation for us at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the water in Cascais. Highly recommend Bruno!
