Hi :) My name is Michal and I am graduated in political science. Beside working in the travel industry I like sport and all types of outdoor activities like hiking or riding a bicycle. Since 2007, I have been working as a tour guide in Wroclaw/Poland. It is funny because I have never planned to do it and it came by chance. Anyway, it is a great work which I enjoy a lot. I like it because there is no routine and every day is different. I have a chance to meet great people from all over the world and learn something from them. I also like the fact that I can help them to understand polish history and everyday life which sometimes is very complicated. Wroclaw - the city where I mostly work - is so amazing that it is a pure pleasure to walk around and show it to visitors. I also take people to the countryside to visit some castles, churches or just to hike. What I like the most is to do WW2 and communism tours. My background in political science helps me a lot to give clear explanations about the last 80 years of history. I also love to do "nostalgic tours" where I help visitors to visit areas they were born or their family came from. If you like historical places with nice architecture you should come here. Wroclaw is the capital of Lower Silesia Province which is the most attractive touristic area in Poland. Here it is plenty of old castles, palaces, old churches, monasteries and other very interesting sites. In this tour, I want to show you the most amazing places in our province and this is why I call it 'Pearls of Lower Silesia'. You will visit one of the biggest castles in Poland which history is ready scenario for a good and long Hollywood movie. The second place we will visit is the biggest church in Europe built without any nail! It is breathtaking and everyone must visit it.
This lovely tour takes you outside of the town of Wroclaw. Seeing the rolling hills and passing by small towns and farmland was as enjoyable as visiting the 2 planned sites. Michal provided the history of the Ksiaz Castle, from its inception, to occupation by the Nazis, and its renovation. The Church of Peace in Swidnica is fascinating and worthwhile. We highly recommend Michal and this tour.
Sample tour times: 9:00 - departure from you accommodation 10:30 - 12:00 - tour in the Ksiaz castle (undergrounds not included) 12:00 - 13:00 - lunch break in the castle (it can be skipped if you prefer so) 13:00 - 13:30 - transfer to Swidnica, the town with the Church of Peace 13:30 - 14:00 - Church tour 14:00 - 15:30 - transfer to Wroclaw and drop off at the place you choose.
