Hello travelers! My name is Jesus, and I grew up in Puerto Maldonado, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. Since childhood, the rainforest has been my home and my greatest source of learning. While my parents worked in the jungle, I explored every corner, fascinated by the surrounding wildlife. I learned to recognize bird songs, interpret the sounds of the forest, and understand the delicate balance of this ecosystem. Even today, I feel the same excitement every time I enter the jungle, and my passion is sharing that connection with those who visit us. Since 2003, I have worked as a guide specializing in ecotourism, birdwatching, and wildlife photography expeditions. In 2015, I became an independent guide and experience creator, designing my own routes to provide a more authentic connection with nature. I am a Certified Tour Guide with an official license since 2015 and a member of the Madre de Dios Guide Association. I speak fluent English, can converse in French, and understand Portuguese, allowing me to connect with travellers from all over the world and share my knowledge in different languages. My tours in the Tambopata National Reserve offer unique experiences in one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. What sets my expeditions apart is that I work with small groups and at less crowded times, ensuring a more intimate atmosphere and better wildlife observation opportunities. I also have my own boat, which allows me to take travellers to lesser-explored areas where nature remains in its purest state. My wildlife photography and birdwatching tours are designed for those seeking to spot iconic species such as the harpy eagle, macaws, toucans, and giant river otters. I also offer night explorations to observe caimans, fluorescent frogs, and other creatures that come to life in the darkness of the rainforest. Beyond wildlife observation, my expeditions provide authentic cultural experiences with local communities, where travellers can learn about medicinal plants, traditional fishing techniques, and the way of life of Amazonian families. I am also committed to responsible tourism, minimizing our environmental impact and ensuring that our visits benefit local communities. Every detail of my tours is carefully designed to offer a deeper, more respectful, and enriching experience. If you are looking to explore the Amazon in an authentic way, with a local guide who knows every corner and every sound of the jungle, I would be delighted to accompany you on this adventure.

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Lake Sandoval, a stunning oxbow lake in Peru’s Tambopata National Reserve. Surrounded by lush rain forest, this pristine haven shelters endangered giant otters, black caimans, colorful birdlife like macaws & hoatzins, as well as playful capuchin, howler & squirrel monkeys. Towering palms & giant water lilies also add to the magic. Why Visit? This lake is one of the Amazon’s top places for animal encounters, ideal for wildlife spotting, and on this tour we'll enjoy scenic canoe rides through mirroring waters, either at sunrise or sunset. I'll also be guiding you in jungle hikes exploring vibrant rainforest trails. The best time of the year to do this tour is in dry season (May to October). If you choose to do this tour on the afternoon, you'd not only encounter fewer crowds but get to see the dynamic shift in wildlife (nocturnal fauna is quite distinct), as well as witness stunning sunset reflections. The afternoon also provides cooler conditions for hiking & paddling.
-The tour would begin with an afternoon hotel pick-up, after which we'd head to the Madre de Dios River. -Next, we'll proceed to get on a boat that will take us to the trailhead. -Afterwards, we'll go on a 2.5 km leisurely hike, stopping for instances of environmental interpretation as we go. -Later, we'll get on a canoe onto Lake Sandoval and proceed with our wildlife observation which will include seeing giant otters fishing, capuchin monkeys foraging & sunset-colored macaws flying overhead. -Next, it'll be time for a golden hour photography session with sunset contemplation (with refreshments of course!). -After some early-nocturnal wildlife spotting, we'll return to Puerto Maldonado under the starlight to drop you off.

Private motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River, followed by a scenic paddle canoe ride across Lake Sandoval. Comfortable, safe, and ideal for wildlife observation. We'd also use a private, air-conditioned SUV or minivan (Hyundai H1) depending on group size. Vehicles are modern, clean, comfortable, and equipped with seatbelts and large windows for scenic views. All units are regularly maintained and driven by experienced local drivers. For groups up to 4 people, we'd use a 4x4 SUV; for larger groups, a spacious minivan would be provided. Transfers are smooth, safe, and designed for short distances around Puerto Maldonado.
