Dutch ancestry tour: Groningen

I am happy to show you the beautiful landscapes of the top of The Netherlands, including the Wadden Islands, and tell you about its interesting history and inhabitants. My area is the provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, including all 5 Wadden Islands. And recently I added Ostfriesland as a destination, after a wonderful tour I prepared for that region. My specialty is the ancestry tour, a tour based on genealogical research, but as a biologist and shell collector I can put emphasis on natural history subjects like bird watching and beach combing. Other options: sailing trips on the beautiful (Frisian) lakes and canals (I am a skilled sail instructor), trips to the Wadden Sea, cycling trips in the countryside. City trips include several museums, like the modern art museum in Groningen and the new Drents Museum. I can drive you there and to other places you'd like to visit. I was born in Friesland and speak the Frisian language fluently. I have lived in Groningen for over 40 years now. I like the city of Groningen as well as the flat countryside of the province. My wife was born in Drenthe, with its beautiful woods and small villages; I've been there frequently. I had German in school and was frequently in our neighbouring country, and speak the German language sufficiently. Just tell me what you would like to see and do and I will try to make it happen.
