Hello my dear friends! My name is Younes LAFHAL. I’ve been sharing the wonders of Morocco with visitors since 2002. I began my career as a tour driver, working for my brother—who was also my boss—for about 15 years. During this time, I gained extensive knowledge of Morocco’s landscapes, history, and culture. In 2018, I decided to take my passion further and become an independent guide, obtaining my official guiding license after passing the exam. Guiding has always been more than just a job for me—it’s a family tradition and a way to connect with people from all over the world. My father and two brothers were also in this field, and, from a young age, I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Growing up in a modest area, I chose to leave my studies early to help support my family, and I’ve never looked back. This work is my passion, giving me the chance to learn something new every day from the guests I meet and to share my love for Moroccan culture and heritage. We were in Casablanca for a day on a cruise stopover. Younes was easy to communicate with and was ready and waiting for our arrival. We had a great day seeing all the sights, and enjoyed learning about Casablanca. The highlight had to be our lunch in a local market, we enjoyed many local dishes which were fantastic and we had so much fun. Younes looked after us so well, ordering all our meals and buying the fresh fish that was then promptly cooked for us. After talking to other cruises who did the official cruise tours, we were so glad we opted for a local guide and got to enjoy an up close and personal look at Casablanca. One of our highlights of our trip.

Younes and his tour are not to be missed while in Morocco! My family of five had the great luck of picking younes for our shore excursion while in Casablanca. Younes had great response time ahead of our tour, and was at the meeting spot when we arrived. He had a beautiful clean van, big enough for me, and four other adults. During the tour, younes regaled us with history, funny stories and personal anecdotes which clearly showed his love of Casablanca. Younes accommodated my parents limited mobility, planning for accessible activities while making sure my sisters and I were able to enjoy ourselves as well. Our last stop was the market, and times accompanied us, helping translate and interact with the local sellers. He was amenable to changes in the planned itinerary and made sure we made it back to the shuttle station safely and on time. His driver was prof and safe as well.

With such a short time in Casa Blanca, Morocco, this customized tour was perfect to give an experience with authentic food and sights such as the mosque, a market etc. but most of all a chance to get to know a local and his lived life experiences.
