In this private tour, you'll be introduced into Barragan's own style and understand the essence of his architecture, but also you'll be immersed in a peaceful atmosphere in the Ortega gardens which are of great beauty compose a trajectory that surprises at each step consisting of a series of open rooms, pathways, stone resting places, copies of classical sculptures and religious images. Gilardi house is considered his architectural testament where his expression achieves a particularly significant synthesis. It shows how Barragan's extraordinary compositional abilities were perfectly suited to buildings of relatively smaill size.
Monica's timing between the visit to Casa Gilardi and then the Blue House was impeccable. She has a great wealth of knowledge about Barragan, and information that adds to the experience of visiting Mexico City in general. I hope to come back to CDMX and would definitely take another tour with Monica.
This tour was outstanding and it was all thanks to Monica. Not only is she extremely informed on the work of Barragan, she also made the tour very fun. She went out of her way to make sure we had privacy in each room (even though there were other simultaneous tours), and she went out of her way to make sure we could experience each "surprise" of color and light. She even helped us arrange perfect group photographs (and took them for us). This was definitely the highlight of our trip. Monica was professional, highly communicative, and a complete delight of a person. We will be booking her again next time we're in CDMX!

This tour was a top highlight from Mexico City! Monica was so knowledgeable about Luis Barragan and was able to give us a great appreciation for this famous architect and his beautifully designed residences.
