I live in a small town just outside of Negril. I have been in tourism over 15 years begun guiding in 2012 when I am not guiding I am exploring Jamaica my self as there is a lot to see and experience enjoying my Island paradise. Through my experience and interaction with visitors to Jamaica I realized there was a need for the provision of authentic Jamaican experience in a private setting without the hassle of large groups. Overview of your Negril tour

I will pick you up from your hotel, villa or specified location. A complimentary Red Stripe is included to start the Jamaican experience. We will embark on a scenic drive through the hills of Negril, Westmoreland. I will take you to see the humble Rasta man to experience and learn about how they live and his culture. Here We will Learn about the various trees, plants and their various uses to the Jamaican people. Then we go off to the Blue Hole. We will soak and immerse our self in natural mineral water. Inside the spring is 35 feet deep; However, the edges of the spring are shallow for you to stand or sit down. Thrill seekers and staff entertain guests with dives only a daredevil can perform. You can jump climb down or just simply cool off in the mineral pool.

We had a wonderful and enlightening tour. Michael chatted about local towns and people as we traveled through the countryside. The first stop was at a small metal works where we saw beautiful metal crafts as well as paintings. We then traveled on to visit a Rastafarian who shared on his life and the medicinal uses of many common plants of Jamaica. Finally, we had a chance to jump into the Blue Hole which was a refreshing end to trip before we headed back. Michael was friendly and entertained us with his extensive knowledge of his country. He was punctual and a very good driver, a necessity considering all of the potholes in the road still present from Hurricane Melissa months ago.

Michael was friendly and informative. He seemed to know everyone and made us feel comfortable and welcome. We went to Mayfield falls which was gorgeous and our guide shared all of the abundance of his home. The spot we stopped and ate lunch at was delicious and the farm was full of beautiful plants which we got to enjoy as well. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone who would like to experience Jamaica and it's wonderful people.

We chose Tours by Locals as we wanted the reassurance of booking with a registered company and the knowledge of a local person. Micheal our guide didn't disappoint. From the moment we set off learned so much, from the names and uses of the local plants to meeting and understanding more about the Rasta community. Having a genuine local to guide you means you get to experience an authentic side of Jamaica. We felt more like Michael's friends than tourists. (Safe driver too!) Highly recommend.
