Explore Kingston your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Kingston tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Kingston for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Wander Lemoine Point or Little Cataraqui Creek with a guide who helps you spot warblers and owls, or take the free ferry to Wolfe Island for a beach walk at Big Sandy Bay and lakeshore birding.

Day trip tours: Spend a day on the Rideau Canal with stops at the Jones Falls lockstation and its stone arch dam before a lakeside lunch in Westport, or head to Prince Edward County via the Glenora Ferry for tastings at small wineries and a stroll on the dunes at Sandbanks Provincial Park.

Downtown is walkable and Kingston Transit buses cover the city well, but nature areas and day trips need a car, so you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide about tours with private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Kingston inside and out.

From Kingston, branch out to shoreline towns and quiet countryside for easy day trips, a good fit for private tours where you set the pace and skip the rush.

- Gananoque and the Thousand Islands: About 30 minutes east, you get island lookouts along the Parkway, waterfront paths, and small-town cafés; your tour can link short walks, scenic pullouts, and time by the harbour for photos and a snack.

- Prince Edward County (Picton, Bloomfield, Wellington): Roughly an hour west, this wine and food region mixes farm stands, art studios, and long sandy beaches, so if you love tasting rooms, galleries, or cycling quiet backroads, your tour can focus on the stops that match your style.

- Perth and Westport via the Rideau: Stone heritage streets, canal locks, and lakeside views make a relaxed circuit about an hour north, and your tour can balance town strolls with viewpoints over the ridges for a laid‑back day.

- Brockville and the 1000 Islands Parkway: About an hour east, pair Canada’s first railway tunnel with riverfront trails and ship watching, then follow the Parkway for island panoramas as your tour adds photo stops where the light looks best.
