Hi! I'm Melina, tiny apple in Italian, and I'd like to make you feel like a local on this beautiful island I have chosen as my home: Sardinia. Wanna join me? As a passionate Sardinia lover and specialist, I'm committed to sharing my passion with those who want to discover our territory and learn about our culture. Unfortunately, many people only know Sardinia for its crystal clear sea and long white sandy beaches. My mission is to show people from all over the world that Sardinia is much more than just "sea". I look forward to organizing unforgettable tours for you that will make you truly experience this Mediterranean island: Kilometers of walks without contact with civilization; meetings with locals to discover the island's traditions, crafts, food and wine, music; millennia of archaeology and history. . . Of course, all tours can be adapted to your own needs, so don't worry if you don't find the right tour, I will design a tailor-made one for you! I came to Sardinia in 2014. I grew up in the Spanish Pyrenees but my parents are German, so I have cultivated a passion for mountains and the study of languages since I was a child. I completed my training as a Trekking Guide in the Spanish Pyrenees with an Internship in Sardinia. The fusion of teaching and tourism has allowed me to settle here, where I work as an online and face-to-face language coach and as a multilingual tour guide. I speak 6 languages and I am also a passionate traveller like you! I see travel like a transformation that can change someone's habits and life as a whole if you encounter the right people and are open to give and receive. Protecting nature, collaborating with local communities and sharing unforgettable moments that become memories that stay for a lifetime are the key to my tours! For the safety and security of our guests in the mountains, rest assured to know I am a member of AIGAE (Associazione Italiana Guide Ambientali Escursionistiche), the most important national association in the sector. - Certified Tour Guide in Sardinia, license n. 2834, since 2018 - Certified Environmental Trekking Guide in Sardinia, AIGAE license SA631, since 2020 - Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting, 2006 - Master's Degree in Foreign Language Teaching, 2010 - First level of European School of Sommeliers, 2022 None

On this tour, you'll discover the history of the region of Baronia, especially during medieval times. As we go on a walk through Orosei's historic centre, I'll tell you about the people and legends of the town I live in. In the Middle Ages, this town played an important role, as can be witnessed by the "Preione Vezza" (the old prison). Would you like a coffee? We'll have one in my garden! We'll also head north to Santa Lucia, a picturesque fishermen's village where we'll find a tower that was used to spot Saracen pirates coming in from the sea. We'll visit the medieval village of Posada too, where the remains of the ancient fortress "Castello della Fava" sit atop a 90-metre-high plateau. So much history may make you hungry, so we'll go to a small restaurant where we'll eat right on the waterfront, maybe fresh fish! Besides enjoying the magnificent view of the crystal-clear sea, we'll also take in the fields along the Posada river. We will not finish the tour without visiting a ceramic artisan family.
-After picking you up, we'll walk around the old town of Orosei until we stop for a coffee break in my own garden (I live here!). -Next, we'll drive North towards the fisherman town of Santa Lucia where we'll have lunch at the seafront (possibility to swim at the beach). -We'll then visit the medieval castle "Castello della Fava" and the old town of Posada, one of the "borghi autentici d'Italia", Italian authentic villages) -Next, we'll visit a ceramics factory where you'll see how a family of potters of 3 generations make masterpieces with their hands. Pottery is an ancient art that's been passed on from generation to generation, also in Medieval times. Some symbols like the "Sardinian hen" or the red coral have been depicted on ceramics and other materials since ancient times! You'll be able to get some souvenirs here. -At last, return to Orosei (possibility to customize the tour and add a wine tasting and dinner in a local vineyard in the evening- upon reservation and availability of the winemaker).
