Hi, my name is Alessandro and I'm a passionate Sicilian archaeologist and tour guide. I hold a BA in Preservation of Cultural Herigate, with a specific focus on classical archaeology, completed by a further Postgraduate qualification in Sicily and Magna Graecia Archeology. My main research interest is on Magna Graecia and Sicily Archaeology, about which I published different scientific papers. I was also assistant to the Chair of Greek and Roman Archaeology at the BA Sciences of Tourism of the "Università degli Studi della Calabria". I have worked as an excavation supervisor in Abruzzo, Puglia, Calabria and Sicily. I am a Licensed Guide for Sicily since 2014. What I love most about my job is sharing my passion for the land with others and spreading knowledge of the territory and culture of Sicily as I know her. I am always delighted to guide my visitors into an unconventional world of archaeology, food, wine and traditions. According to me, a place must not only be visited, but felt and lived in all of its multifaceted features. This is the concept I have of any excursion. We must not be tourists, we have to be part of the society in which we stay, blending our customs with their way to live. I think that this belief, in combination with my expertise acquired through extensive and continuing academic research and high-grade studies, makes me a totally different kind of tour guide. According to me "Sicily must be experienced, leisurely and in depth". This is the philosophy through which I live on my island. BA in Classical Archaeology Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Archaeology Long experience of excavations in Sicily and South Italy Experience as assistant to the Chair of Greek and Roman Archaeology at the University Publications related to the field of Roman and Greek Archaeology Licensed Tour Guide for Sicily

The Vendicari Nature Reserve is mainly renowned because of the unique characteristics of its flora and fauna, and its extraordinarily beautiful beaches. However the area also discloses a rich archaeological heritage. As a matter of fact, the fertility of its lands, together with the numerous natural harbors, the abundance of marine salt and fish fostered the continuous anthropization of the place from Prehistory to Modern Age. Guiding you through the wonders of the area where I grew up, and which was even my dissertation topic, I will help you discover the archaeological and architectural treasures of the fertile coast of Noto.
- Our tour will start from the Roman Villa of the River Tellaro, whose excavations disclosed an important complex of mosaic floors dating back to the 4th century AD. - We will then head to the central part of the Vendicari Nature Reserve to visit a 15th-century Tower of Vendicari, the early 20th-century tuna fishery owned by the Modica Munafò family, and the remains of a Hellenistic-Roman fish factory. The itinerary can be customized upon request.
