This is a 5-hour walking tour around the city with some interesting information not to miss. We will see how the locals live, by visiting one of its old neighborhoods and get in touch with them. As the city is well known for its diversities, varied from Javanese, Chinese, and Arabian influence, we will wander into its contrasting scenes. Also, you will find out about the well-preserved old colonial buildings made by the Dutch hundreds of years ago. One of my favorite trip is at my home town, not only I know we'll about the places and every inch of it , but the diversity of the culture and long history of this makes this ambience would be something great. Highly recommend Mijil if you are in Surabaya. Mijil provided an outstanding introduction and tour of the city, its neighborhoods, culture and history. He also adjusted the tour based on our requests and desires. We visited via a cruise ship. We covered three times as much of a normal bus tour from the ship and did it in comfort and our preferred pace. It was a wonderful day! You cannot go wrong without Mijil.
Mijil was very accommodating and informative. We had a great 6 hour tour. He has a very positive, happy attitude. He adapted quickly to our needs. We highly recommend him.
It is a good tour. Showed us the ins and outs of the city so we got a good flavor of it.
A group of four of us enjoyed a tour round the city. We were picked up from our cruise ship in an air-conditioned and comfortable car . Our guide and his driver did an amazing job taking us to very interesting places, and showing us how locals lived. We visited a fantastic mosque, markets where locals shop, Chinese Malaysian and European living quarters, and several buildings of interest. It was very handy having a driver who could drop us off at one place and then pick us up at another. As you can imagine some places were just impossible to park. The guide was very flexible and basically anything we wanted to see that he could accommodate he did so. The guide’s English was very good, and his local knowledge was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour guide for someone who wants to see how the locals live.
Mijil was excellent in every way. We thoroughly enjoyed both the Surabaya tour & the trip to Mt Brumo from Probolinggo. Made it more special to have him for 2 days in a row. He is very knowledgeable & easy to understand. He made learning about the Indonesian culture & history enjoyable. We will never forget our time with him & hope to stay in touch as we felt we truly made a new friend, not just a guide. Our driver was superb & made us feel safe. The volcano hike was just difficult enough to leave us feeling proud & successful. Highly recommend Mijil for any aspect of the area you wish to explore.
The city is not a cultural wonderland, but the team show you what life is like in an interesting and involved way. Driving alone is a challenge. If your want to understand life in the city, this is the tour.
