Hi! Yohana's here, but I simply go by "Yo". There are three things I love the most : language, literature and music. These are what have shaped me into what I am today. The city where I live, Semarang, has hidden gems to offer, such as historical and artsy places, street food at Chinatown nightmarket, as well as a mountain and hills to hike or just to enjoy beautiful sceneries from! Most travelers love the last two, though. So, I hope I can take you around this beautiful city when you book my tours, as it offers amazing experiences! Nonetheless, you are very welcome to request your own tour and I'll do my best to cater to your need or interests! I'm open to discussion. Looking forward to meeting you and having fun together! On this tour, you'll visit one unique architecture and two historical places in Semarang. 1. Sam Poo Kong The oldest Chinese temple in Semarang in the early 15th century, consisting of four temples that exhibit a unique blend of traditional Chinese and Javanese architecture. 2. Lawang Sewu The name translates as "A Thousand Doors", but it's only because of the massive, three-story structure lined with numerous doors and windows that resemble doors. This big, beautiful yet sad building that stands out in the area was built and used by the Dutch, then used as the Japanese Military Headquarters, and now is owned by the Indonesian Railway Office. 3. Old Town Earlier known as the Oudstad or Old Town in Dutch, it is located near the harbor where 18th-century buildings have been well preserved with many still in use to this day. There are more hidden stories behind those places you can find out while you're here.
