Hello! My name is Nestor, I am an entrepreneur, tourism professional and authorized tour guide in Guatemala. I specialize in organizing multi-day itineraries that include combinations of activities that are suggested according to your interests. For 21 years I've been exploring mountains, volcanoes, archaeological sites in the jungles, villages, cities and cultures and of Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, and leading itineraries across Central America into Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I believe in tourism as a complementary way to impulse the development of local families and communities, and contribute to the conservation of the cultural and natural heritage of my country. The extensive knowledge I've collected from my diverse studies, and the experiences of traveling around 18 countries, facilitates flexibility in creating a tour to personalize your experience in this country/region. If you want me to suggest an itinerary to match your tastes and desires, consider it done. However, if you want more involvement in the planning process, I welcome the opportunity to assist you during the co creation of your trip. The tours are exclusively private, this means I don't accommodate various groups of travelers unless it's a special request of a tour operator, organization or travel agent. Send me a message and I'll gladly answer any inquiries. Looking forward to meeting you. Certified General tour guide, licensed by INGUAT (Guatemalan Tourism Board), license # 1092. Bsc. in Tourism from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. 21 years of experience as mountaineer, hiker, climber, explorer and motorcycle traveler.

From ancient Maya archaeological sites within the city limits, through the Historical Center and modern areas of the city, the capital of the country is a reflection of the biodiversity, cultures and conflicts that this part of the world has hosted. La Nueva Guatemala de la Asuncion (complete name of the city) is often overlooked in favor of places with a larger tourism flow, with a private tour you can experience a different side of the city and avoid foreigner crowds. --- If you have specific transportation requirements, pricing inquiries or if your preferred start time isn't listed, please send me an email by clicking on the 'ASK A QUESTION' button that's listed on my tour page and profile. I will reply to you promptly. Thanks!

Nestor is amazingly knowledgeable. He had incorporated my preferences into plans for the day. Very attentive. Could not have been better. I have already recommended him to friends.
I completely enjoyed my day-long tour with Nestor as my guide. We coordinated the itinerary together and the best use of time. He is a good communicator (English), added so much with his knowledge and details to subjects that, otherwise, would have been missed. It is worth the extra money to have a guide, like Nestor. He went above and beyond, was on time and was diligent in his desire to make sure I saw and experienced what I had wanted. He made my experience memorable.
Nestor was a delight to travel with! The tour was a unique experience. Nestor is a funny guide who took me to the main attractions and explained everything very well. I had never been to Guatemala before, with him i felt very welcome in the city. A very successful mixture of past and present. I will contact you tours by locals again when I come back to Guatemala and please put me in touch with Nestor again! The communication with Nestor before the trip was also excellent. Gracias, Nestor!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Nestor provided an outstanding custom English-language day tour by car for us in Guatemala City. His knowledge and insights into the country, its history, politics, people and geography is phenomenal. We really had a wonderful day with him.
Excellent Guide. Booked with Nestor for a tour of Gautemala City and a visit to some museums. Upon visiting the Popul Vuh museum, my family and I were amazed at Nestors in-depth knowledge of Mayan history and of the articles on display. He has a freindly attitude and never grew tired of our endless questions. He is fluent in english, punctual, flexible and a good driver.
This day tour is flexible to meet your schedule. The regular start is Kaminaljuyú, a Mayan archaeological site located within the city limits, and it is often possible to watch live Maya ceremonies (45 minutes). After that, we visit the "Mapa en relieve", a scale model of the country map of Guatemala, where you can learn a general idea of the Guatemalan topography (40 minutes). We also visit the Historical Center: including the Central Square, Central Market and other historical buildings (45 minute visit plus lunch time). Optional visits to museums upon request: National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. Popol Vuh Museum (Mayan Archaeology). Ixchel Museum (Mayan weaving and textiles). At some point, we stop for a refreshing drink in a local bar or coffee shop. After this, we drive around some of the modern areas of the city on the way back to your hotel or the airport (in case you're on a layover). Customized tours upon request.
