This tour is for people staying in Guatemala city, willing to do a day tour of Antigua and then returning back to Guatemala city. This town has preserved colonial architectural traits and many interesting ruins of buildings that served different purposes between the 16th and 18th centuries. Nestor spoke perfect English, was extremely personable and knowledgeable of Guatemalan history, Mayan culture and the impact of Spanish Colonial rule on the region in general and Antigua in particular. Nestor was a delight to travel with! The tour was a unique experience. Nestor is a funny guide who took me to the main attractions and explained everything very well. I had never been to Guatemala before, with him i felt very welcome in the country. A very successful mixture of past and present. Nestor was punctual. His English was very good, and he was exceptionally knowledgeable. He was able to answer all our questions and give her some insight into the history, and the culture that we would otherwise not have. We would highly recommend him.
Nestor's 2-day tour of Guatemala City and Antigua was excellent. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Guatemala as a country, its Mayan beginnings, and the new and old Guatemala City. The mountain drive to Antigua was both harrowing and beautiful and included small cities along the way. Modern Guatemala City has all the traffic problems of large cities, but also a number of zones, each of which has its own character. From any vantage point, one sees the beautiful volcanoes. Really enjoyed 2.5 days with Nestor. He listened to our interests and chose places to visit and do accordingly. Although we already had some time on our own in Antigua, he helped fill in the blanks and took us to places we otherwise would not have been able to visit. Chose a great spot to view the annual procession on April 7 with the car parked where we could "escape" the crowds. Given the limited time in Guatemala City, felt he chose wisely to give us a great "introduction". His English is fluent.

On arrival we start the tour around the historical center of the town, and visit interesting landmarks that include: - Central Park and surrounding buildings. - Cerro de la Cruz (a panoramic view of the town from a hill). - Church temples and ruins of iconic cloisters and monasteries in the town. - We eat lunch at a local restaurant with specialties on Guatemalan cuisine. - Visit to the colorful market in the town. - Any optional additional activities you can request (zip lining, chocolate tour, pub crawls, foodie experience).
