My wife and I had an enjoyable morning tour of the central city of Carcassonne with Cindy. She was very informative about the history and the architecture of the city. Cindy had numerous old photos and renderings of how certain parts of the city looked in the past, and standing in the same spot, you could see the contrast and differences of the current design of the city. She was also very helpful in recommending her favorite museums, restaurants and other locations with the best rooftop views of the city. I would highly recommend starting your time in Carcassonne with a city tour with Cindy.

We really enjoyed our walking tour with Cindy. She was on time, and she spent the entire time sharing the story of Carcassonne throughout history, using visual references and extensive descriptions in English. This tour was of the lower city (outside the walls of the citadel), but both areas were included in the story. Cindy was considerate of my temporary walking restriction, and gave us options at the end of the tour to shorten the walking a bit. We recommend this tour as a way to understand the region.
