Hello! Welcome to my page and thanks for checking me out! My name is Romulo and I am excited to have this opportunity to be your personal tour guide while you are visiting the Dominican Republic. I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, but I came back to be with my family in 2001. I have great insight about my country and the culture because it is mine; I am not a transplanted person trying to adapt to something new. I am authentic, just like the experiences I can offer to you. I have a long history of guiding and client services as I have many years of experience working as a guide for tour groups all over the Dominican Republic and occasionally into Haiti. I also have extensive experience as a private driver for VIP and executive visitors to the Dominican Republic. These experiences combined have given me my qualities as a professional guide/driver all while doing what I love- working with and serving clients in a field that has the flexibility to be different each day. Overview of your La Romana tour
Visit Cueva de las Maravillas, also called the "Cave of Wonders" for the beauty revealed inside and everything one could imagine. Inside the cave you will see about 500 paintings and engravings on the walls, painted in black and red and made by the Taínos, the ancient inhabitants of the island. In The Water Mirror Gallery, which consists of an artificial lake that reflects like a mirror on top of the cave, you will see The Great Panel, a cave painting created by the Taínos, which represents a funeral ritual, among others. In addition to these wonders, flora that include 48 natural species: arraijanes, guáyiga, yellow caya, lignum vitae, pegapalo, jasmine, cat's claw, carboy, stick hen, black Cuba, yaya brown, bighorn coffee, cane juice, stick donkey, Pringamosa and bitter stick, among others. For lunch, you will eat at a local restaurant serving traditional local cuisine while mixing and mingling with the local community.
