Cesky Krumlov is a unique experience, I hope I can make you as enthusiastic about this city as I became after several visits, so much, that I decided to move here. And I have lived quite some places: learned english as a child in California, studied and lived for eight years in Paris, and grown up in Budapest. I am a real central-european: none of my grand parents birthplace is in today's Hungary, but all came from the formal Austro-Hungarian Empire. This same mixture is what makes Krumlov - or Krummau - so unique and of course, it's history and (fortunate or unfortunate) eternal second place in Bohemia. When we meet I will ask you questions about what you have visited, Prague or Austria, and what you do or are interested in. I do my best to tailor my tour to your interests and avoid repeating things you might have already heard. The advantage of a private tour is the real dialogue between local and visitor, and I will answer all your questions - never hesitate to ask. Some things might seem obvious for me but very strange for you. My background - art history, philosophy - and my love for this city will hopefully help you to make of your days or hours in South Bohemia an unforgettable trip. For daytrippers, well - you will have to deal with many other visitors, but for those staying overnight, be patient, after 5-4pm the city gets calmer, and you will be able to enjoy the river shore terraces and the famous czech beer at your pace. Hope to meet you soon in Cesky Krumlov! This comfortable day trip in private car/minibus tour includes the visit of the Castle of Hluboka nad Vltavou, the city of Ceske Budejovice and the visit of the Budvar brewery with beer tasting. The tour is 6-7 hours long with a comfortable rhythm of walking, free time and bus ride. I believe that travelling makes each person richer, but only if you learn to feel the places you have been to. Walking through cities without knowing the story behind can still be wonderful, but will you remember? Do, learn, feel, taste, savour and all your destinations will become part of you, and remembering where pictures were taken will not need any GPS coordinates.
The tour starts at 9am at your hotel in Cesky Krumlov. First we drive to Hluboka where we have a15 minutes long walk up to the castle. Depending on opening and availability the Hluboka castle tour or a walk around the castle in the gardens is one hour. After a short brake we drive to Ceske Budejovice where a 30-40 minutes long walking tour is provided: starting at the Main square, and visiting the surrounding area of the old town: the Black tower, the Town Hall, the Samson fountain, St. Nicholas church; around the Piaristicke square: the Salt house and the Dominican monastery, the fortifications and the tower of the Iron Maiden. The visitors have an hour long lunch break (table reserved in one of the best restaurants for them. Minibus pick up at the restaurant and after a short drive the visit of the Budvar brewery starts in english at 14, 00 with beer tasting in the fermentation cellars. We drive back to Cesky Krumlov through the village of Holasovice protected by the UNESCO.
