Hello, my name is Martina. When I was four, I visited the first castle with my parents and fell in the love with the guiding profession. I studied English and History of Art at university and worked as a seasonal guide at several castles during summer holidays. In 1997 I completed the first of a range of courses for professional guides. I worked as a teacher and a translator but my passion for history and travelling and the desire to share my knowledge with other people drove me to become a freelance certified guide. Thanks to this decision the dream job from my childhood has been my main occupation since 2004. I lead tours of other regions of the Czech Republic too but I know Brno and Southern Moravia best because I was born and have been living here all my life. I would be pleased to welcome you to my native city and show you the highlights and hidden nooks; take you to the busy places and out of the beaten track. It is the second largest city of the Czech Republic but unlike Prague it has retained the typical local atmosphere and its beautiful surroundings have not been discovered by foreign tourists yet. Brno is situated in the warmest part of the country. If you want certain guarantees of sunny weather, it is the best choice. And sun is a prerequisite for quality wines. It is, therefore, no wander that an area full of vineyards and wine cellars stretches from Brno far to the south. The Czech Republic is extremely rich in castles and other historic buildings. You can find 17 UNESCO sites here, out of which one is right in Brno and other seven are within 100 km from the city. I try to treat travelers like my friends so I hope you enjoy your stay and join the group of my former clients who remember their holidays in the Czech Republic as something exceptional. I would be delighted to welcome you to my home-land Brno, Czech Republic. While making a tour with me you will have an opportunity to learn about ancient and recent history and enjoy Moravian hospitality! I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The walking tour will give you an overview of the pleasant center of the second-largest city in the Czech Republic and my home. The city of central legal institutions, six universities, international trade fares, motor racing circuit, the oldest railway track, and the first electrified theatre in Central Europe; a place connected with personalities like Charles IV, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tomas Garique Masaryk, Leos Janacek, Gregor Johann Mendel, etc. We will see the squares, town halls, the cathedral and other churches, parks, and also modern statues that have become new tourist attractions of the city, all combined with legends, stories, and interesting facts from local as well as European history. In addition to the outdoor walking tour, it is possible to visit one of the four underground tourist sights or any museum. The tour can also include Spilberk Castle or the garden of the Tugendhat Villa, a UNESCO site.
Best tour ever!! Martina shared so many fantastic sights in Brno with us and accommodated our limitations with walking. She enthusiastically shared the history of the area and highlighted so many details we would have missed if touring without her! And we had coffee at a fabulous shop where she introduced us to amazing artisan pastries! Highly recommend contacting Martina for your next visit to Brno - a fabulous guide for a fabulous city!!
Everything was perfekt! Martina gave us a great impression of Brno! She explained everything with a lot of detailed backgroundimformation!
Martina I wrote my review yesterday but my words disappeared as usual 🙄 I hope TBL gets this website fixed! I so enjoyed every part of our time together! Your help picking a hotel & all the correspondence about which sights to include prior to booking was so helpful . However, all the castles, churches, countryside & food(!) were so impressive and your accompanying explanations & historical perspective really added an extra pizazz! Thanks again for making my Czech Republic visit even more memorable!!!
Martina is very knowledgeable about Brno- she was born and raised in the city. She told us about the history of the area and about the well known people who came from Brno. Martina also knows where to go for the best coffee!
Martina was an excellent guide. She made Brno a very special place. Very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.
Martina was the best guide we have ever had. She was highly motivated from the first moment to make the best out of our Brno tour, interesting and funny. She has an enormous a knowledge, which she is able to convey in a very entertaining way. She was also able to answer all our questions in detail. We would book any other tour in the Czech Republic with her. Thank you Martina for a great time.
A 3-hour walking tour allows you to enjoy the attractions of the city center at a leisurely pace - we'll walk the streets the layout of which has not changed since the 13th century and visit: - Vegetable Market, - Old Town Hall, - St Peter and Paul Cathedral (interior), - New Town Hall, - Freedom Square, - St James Church (interior), - Moravian Square. If the weather is cold or too hot, it is possible to hide in the church interiors, covered passageways, or visit: - The Labyrinth. - New Town Hall Cellar - Crypt. - Ossuary. We can always stop at one of the numerous cafés or include the Tugendhat Villa. To see more, we can walk or take a taxi to Spilberk Castle, a former prison of the Austrian Empire and visit the casemates, underground prison cells, or just enjoy the view from the terrace. As the walk is more physically demanding, Spilberk is included at your request only. This tour can be customized due to your preference, please ask me for a quote, and I will send you a customized tour for booking.
