What an amazing day! Hernán B. loves his job and it shows! He is prompt, professional, and kind! He drove us to Tenorino Volcano National Park. He had the tickets all squared away and led us on an amazing hike to see Rio Celeste and other beutiful vistas! He pointed out so many interesting plants and animals and was so interactive! We went swimming outside the park and went to a fun lunch where we got to try so many authentic and delicious dishes! We visited another area where we saw a sloth, monkeys, snakes, frogs toucans and more! The whole day was unforgettable and we all learned so much! Hernán B. explained Pura Vida with his whole heart and had me tearing up! His love of nature, family and country is contagious and I would recommend him for your trip! Overview of your Guanacaste tour
Let's visit the rainforest that's by the little town of Bijagua de Upala, which is located at the north between the province of Guanacaste and Alajuela. We're going to walk in a private property, preserved for the wildlife on the edge of Miravalles Volcano, with a rich inviting ecosystem. We'll come across sloths, monkeys, frogs, birds and more amazing animal and plants. We'll go on a moderate hike for one or two hours (your choice) along clean and wide trails that will make you feel safe to enjoy the wildlife and landscape of Bijagua and Tenorio Volcano . Afterwards we drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park where is located the Celeste River to visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls of C. R. We'll wrap up our experience in the town of Bijagua enjoying a meal in a recomended local restaurant. .

Our guide was excellent! He was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. Since we were coming from another part of the country, he met us where we wanted to tour. Rainforest, wildlife preserve, a lovely swim in the river, and a great local lunch. Hernan is part botanist, zoologist and historian. What a wealth of information! Skip the group tour and book a local guide. Doesn't cost more and the experience is better!
Very nice tour. Hernan was very nice as well as knowledgeable. He altered the tour because of bad weather which resulted in us seeing a juvenile sloth up close which was the high point of our trip. I would definitely recommend him for anyone visiting Costa Rica.
Our day at the Heliconias Hanging Bridges & the Celeste Waterfall was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. He is an excellent guide with a very friendly manner at the same time he is both professional and extremely knowledgeable - we learned so much, not only about the wildlife and plants but also about Costa Rica as a country. Amongst other creatures, he taught us how and where to look for sloths, how to identify a toucan by its call and how tree frogs reproduced. You could not find a better guide.
We had a great time on this tour. To do that you need two things - the tour has to be good...but you also need a good tour guide. We had both. Hernan is a great guy who made us feel like we were "friends visiting" the area. And after the tour we considered him our new friend. As for the tour, it was pretty much as advertised. We were lucky enough to see all the wildlife hoped for (poisonous snakes and frogs, sloths, monkeys, etc.). Hernan is very knowledgeable about indiginous plants and wildlife.
Your Guanacaste tour itinerary
- I will pick you up in the morning from your hotel, residence or any place you request. - After pick-up, I'll drive you to Miravalles Mountain View, which will take us 1. 5 to 2 hours approximately. - Upon arrival we'll begin the visit before getting ready for a hike. - We'll then go on a hike through the rain forest for an hour or two, depending on your preference, to enjoy your surroundings and take pictures. - Later, we'll go on a 30 minute drive to the Tenorio Volcano National Park to Celeste River. - After we start a 1. 5 km (almost a mile) hike to the waterfal approximately an hour an ahalf round trip . - Afterwards we drive back to Bijagua to have lunch in a recomended restaurant. - We'll then go back to your lodging, and on the way there, if you wish, we'll be able to stop at a venue to get snacks, beverages and/or souvenirs before getting to your lodging. - In the end you'll be dropped off, finishing our day together. This itinerary could be customized upon request.
