Overview of your Arenal Volcano National Park tour

Each time I walk on the Arenal lava of 1968's eruption I can feel the sensation of before and after, where in the past there were lands covered with a lot of vegetation, today it is covered with solidified lava that decorates the mountains. Being on the top of this trail offers us the opportunity to enjoy an excellent view of the Arenal Lake. The chocolate will take its place to bring us back to the life of the Indigenous in ancient times and how they used this. After receiving a comprehensive explanation of the chocolate process and taking a tour of the cocoa tree plantation, there is nothing more opportune than a rich tasting of different chocolates.

I cannot say enough about our day with Jose! We booked a personalized tour of Arenal and La Fortuna Waterfall. He picked us up at our Airbnb which was very helpful. His knowledge of the area and sights is amazing! Without him, we would have never learned what we did. He was kind and funny which was a plus. Jose went at our pace and tailored to what we wanted to know as we went along. It was a pleasure spending the day with Jose. It's a great tour with a group - the chocolate tour is at an ecological farm and there is lots to learn about how to make chocolate and lots of tasting too! The Arenal Hike at 1968 site takes you right into the heart of the volcano and jungle around it. We took the long path and there were many lovely vistas and nature to explore throughout.

Jose's tour was the highlight of our trip! We selected the Arenal + chocolate tour and it was perfect. On the drive Jose told us interesting facts about CR and would stop to show us special views and went out of his way to show us Rio Celeste and an awesome Ceiba tree! Jose was impressively knowledgeable about all of the wildlife and brought his binoculars and an extension to be able to take photos through it. He was flexible when making our itinerary to meet our needs. Highly recommend a tour with Jose!
