Hola, my name is Jorge. I will be more than glad to be your local guide in Costa Rica, this paradise that I am lucky to call home. I have designed comprehensive one-day tours in order to help you discover and enjoy the amazing nature, culture and gastronomy of my country. In 2006, I participated in a sustainable tourism program in Sweden. After that, I knew what I wanted to do for a living. I have been working as a tour guide since 2008 and I love it but it was not until 2017 when I joined ToursByLocals. I delivered tours for its clients for a year and then I became part of the company's staff where I worked for 2 and a half years. I truly enjoyed this experience as I met and worked with many fellow tour guides from all around the world, as well as sharing with everybody from the offices. . . however, the outdoors have called me back and here I am again, ready for more tours and adventures :) As a traveler myself, I can say the best journeys I've had abroad have been in the company of local people. To me, sharing traditions and going to places with them is the best way to see another country, that's why I like offering tours that cover the "must-see" places but also more authentic experiences in off-the-beaten-path spots. Overview of your Arenal Volcano National Park tour
Hidden in the dense rainforest of Tenorio Volcano National Park exists a magical river, Rio Celeste, a natural wonder, a piece of paradise. The bright turquoise river and astonishing waterfall are the result of a high concentration of aluminosilicates produced at "Los Teñideros" where the Buena Vista and Quebrada Agria rivers merge. Seeing how the rivers get together with their crystalline and turquoise streams is certainly a fantastic reward after a good hike. This sacred territory for our native indigenous Malekus is still the habitat for many of their spirit animals, such as the sloth, the howler monkeys, toucans, tapirs and the striking jaguar. With a bit of fortune and attention to "some signals" we might be able to spot some of them. The scenic viewpoints to the river and the amazing evergreen mountains along the trail will serve us as quick stops on our way to the imposing waterfall. Your Arenal Volcano National Park tour itinerary
- Pick up at your hotel in La Fortuna
- Drive for about 1:30 hr to Rio Celeste (Tenorio Volcano National Park)
- Hike in the National Park for about 2 hrs. We will cover the whole trail, which encompasses "Los Tenideros", the brightest turquoise section of the river and the waterfall

- Return to La Fortuna
- Coffee time en route
- Drop off at your hotel or preferred location in La Fortuna
