Hola, my name is Jorge. I will be more than glad to be your local guide in Costa Rica, this paradise that I am lucky to call home. I have designed comprehensive one-day tours in order to help you discover and enjoy the amazing nature, culture and gastronomy of my country. In 2006, I participated in a sustainable tourism program in Sweden. After that, I knew what I wanted to do for a living. I have been working as a tour guide since 2008 and I love it but it was not until 2017 when I joined ToursByLocals. I delivered tours for its clients for a year and then I became part of the company's staff where I worked for 2 and a half years. I truly enjoyed this experience as I met and worked with many fellow tour guides from all around the world, as well as sharing with everybody from the offices. . . however, the outdoors have called me back and here I am again, ready for more tours and adventures :) As a traveler myself, I can say the best journeys I've had abroad have been in the company of local people. To me, sharing traditions and going to places with them is the best way to see another country, that's why I like offering tours that cover the "must-see" places but also more authentic experiences in off-the-beaten-path spots. Hoping to take you on tour very soon, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. See you & Pura Vida! - Jorge - BA in Sustainable Tourism Management. I love nature, it always surprises me, every time :) I have put this tour together to maximize our chances of finding wildlife while floating down the beautiful and mellow section of the Rio Sarapiqui on a raft. The rainforest on both sides of the river is home to troops of howler and capuchin monkeys, big Spiky-tailed iguanas, the Boat-billed heron, Water-running lizards, and the smiley sloth just to name a few. This expedition is meant to be a relaxing journey to contemplate nature from the water, hence, it is recommended to anyone who enjoys being outdoors and/or is interested in learning about Costa Rica's amazing biodiversity. After our boat ride, we will enjoy a hearty "Tico" traditional lunch before returning to La Fortuna. Once back in La Fortuna, we will have time to explore the town where I will gladly recommend the best coffee shops and local design stores.
- Pick up at your hotel in La Fortuna and drive to Sarapiquí ( 50 min. driving approx. ) - River Floating Safari (2 hrs approx. ) - Lunch at a local traditional restaurant - Return to La Fortuna - Coffee time in La Fortuna town - Return to your hotel
