Meet Tia, Your Local Guide in Yunnan I was born and raised in Kunming, and Yunnan runs through my blood, quite literally. My grandfather was the first translator in Yunnan province, a pioneer at a time when few could bridge the gap between this extraordinary corner of China and the outside world. Both my parents spent their entire careers in tourism. Growing up in that environment, a love for sharing this place with travelers wasn't something I chose, it was something I inherited. I got my national tour guide license at 18, went on to study Tourism Management at university in Beijing, and spent years guiding visitors from all over the world there. Then came a decade living in Europe, which gave me something just as valuable as my education: a deep understanding of how international travelers think, what they're really looking for, and what makes an experience feel truly memorable rather than merely ticked off a list. A few years ago, I came home to Kunming. And I've never been happier. Now I guide here because I genuinely love it, the food, the landscapes, the 26 ethnic minority cultures, the stories behind every alleyway and mountain pass. I'll show you a Yunnan that most visitors never get to see. My style is warm and relaxed, but I love sharing the history and culture behind what we see, and I'm always open to a spontaneous detour if something interesting catches our eye. I take you to where locals eat, where locals gather, and how locals really live, because that's the only way I know how to show someone my home. Whether you're here for two days or two weeks, my goal is simple: for you to leave feeling of having truly been somewhere, of having had a conversation with a local vendor, shared a meal that surprised you, or stumbled down a lane that wasn't on any map. That sense of real connection with a place is what I care most about giving you, and it's something that stays with you long after you've left Yunnan.

Kunming is often called the City of Eternal Spring, and it's the city I was born and raised in. I have so many fond memories here with my parents from when I was a kid, and after all these years, my love for this place has never faded. What most visitors see, however, barely scratches the surface of what this city truly offers. On this full-day tour, I take you into the Kunming I grew up in, we move at an unhurried pace, and I will not only show you the must-see places, but also take you where locals actually go, eat where locals actually eat, and take the time to absorb what we see rather than rush through it. By the end of the day, Kunming won't just be a place you visited,it'll be a place you got to know.
Pick up at your hotel lobby. • Green Lake Park - As the city wakes up, we stroll through Green Lake Park alongside Kunming's daily regulars. • Yuantong Temple - Kunming's oldest and most celebrated Buddhist temple, still very much alive with local worshippers, incense, and centuries of history. • Bird and Flower Market - A Kunming institution that reflects the city's deep love for beauty in daily life. We take our time here. • Lunch at a local restaurant - We stop for lunch at a neighborhood restaurant in Kunming Old Town — the kind of place locals fill up every day, where the food is honest and the atmosphere is entirely unscripted. • Kunming Old Town- With full stomachs, we wander through one of Kunming's most atmospheric and layered neighborhoods. • Zuan Xin Wet Market - One of the city's most authentic local markets. This is where Kunming's extraordinary food culture comes to life. • Around 6:00pm - Drop off at your hotel
