Longsheng county is located on the northeast of Guangxi and it is 80 kilometers from Guilin. The Longji terrace was begin to exploited by the Ming dynasty, after industrial labor and meticulous care tillage by the Zhuang and Yao people from generation to generation , it was entitled as one unique beauty of the world by the visitors come from china and foreign countries. Longsheng county is populated by some minority people, like Miao people, Dong people and Zhuang people, etc. It has a variety of rustic folk-custom and folklore, unique regional folk culture connotation, so, it constitute a picture of fish folk-custom. When one is personally on the scene, one would experience an intoxication that he never has before.
Great opportunity to see this iconic landscape despite the poor weather. Andy has made this day very enjoyable with his humour, his excellent English and the use of his French expressions. He was very flexible with the organisation of the day, which allowed us to optimise our time in Guilin.
I booked a tour to Longji rice terraces in Guilin with Andy. Andy was an attentive, well informed and a humorous guide. Additionally, he is a confident driver and his car is spacious. I would like to give Andy 5 out of 5 stars.
Andy was friendly and knew the Longji rice terraces well. He adapted the tour based on what we were interested in. Andy's English was impeccable!
Andy was a great tour guide; helpful and friendly. He helped us buy pomelos from the side of the road, took us on a hike after viewing the Longji terraces, and recommended restaurants after our day ended (even sending pictures of the restaurants so they'd be easy to find). We hired his cousin a day later for drive us from Yangshuo to the Guilin airport in a comfortable van for a price lower than quoted by our hotel. Two minutes after the pickup time Andy texted to make sure everything went smoothly.
Open person, active and smiling. Supporting in our extra requests and for sure he contributed to make China experience unforgettable. I suggest to take the rice field tour and the bike and bamboo boat tour in Yanshuo: unique experience.
Andy is a great guide. He knows very well about the history of the places he went with us. He is very nice, very discreet but also very cheerful. His English is excellent and he can even speak some French! He has been very helpful and he even took us to the train station so that we could catch our train. The whole family highly recommends Andy, who is a nice person and an amazing guide.
Your private driver and personal guide will collect from your hotel in Guilin, at 9:00am. From Guilin it's around two hours to Ping'an village. (Entrance fees, which are around 80 RMB, are at your own expense. ) Your first stop is the 'Long Hair Village', Huangluo(for 30 mins visit), where the Yao women grow their hair to spectacular lengths - some as long as 6. 6 feet (2 meters)! Learn about Yao lifestyles here, before you journey up to Ping'an Village, set among the dazzling rice terraces of Longji, and still home to traditional wooden houses, where Zhuang and Yao minorities tend their fields as they have for centuries. Enjoy a traditional lunch in Ping'an (own expense) before your guide leads you through the rice terraces(around 2hrs visit of Ping'an terraces), telling the story of how these stunning landscapes were created over many centuries as the locals carved fields out of the vertiginous slopes of Longji.
