Overview of your Antwerp tour
Antwerp's history is attached to the harbor (the second biggest harbor of Europe), the diamond market, the spectacular train station and Peter Paul Rubnes, one of the greatest artists of all times. But the walking tour is not complete if you don't take the chance to enjoy the Antwerp's Baroque heritage. During my tour you will have the time to visit the Cathedral of Antwerp, where I will explain you the masterpieces of Rubens, specially, "The Descent from the Cross", his greatest work. You will have the time to enjoy the city at your pace. If you are a book lover, I can guide you in the incredible Plantin-Moretus museum. You will discover amazing facts about the history of publishing books in a luxury mansions from the 16th century. If you like books, this museum is amazing. Other options? A visit to the House of Rubens museum, the history of the Antwerp's Jewish Quarter or the amazing art nouveau houses of Cogels-Osylei. Of course, there would be time for chocolate, hace lunch and ahopping.
Your Antwerp tour itinerary
During the walking tour we will visit this sites: -In the old town we visit the cathedral (which houses some of the masterpieces of Rubens). -We cross scenic squares: *Grote Markt (with the city hall), *Vrijdagmarkt, *Conscienceplein (with a beautiful baroque church). -We travel on time walking along the small alleys of the Vaeykensgang. -We admire magnificent palaces and colossal buildings: *The Stone Castle, *The Palace of Meir, *The Old Meat Hall or the Rubenshouse. Outside of the downtown, we visit the amazing Central Station (the fourth most beautiful in the world according to Newsweek) and we learn about diamonds in the famous Jewish quarter.
