Overview of your Antwerp tour

Antwerp is located about 150 km from Brussels and was home to the master of the Baroque style, Paul Peter Rubens. The city has the largest Gothic church in the Low Countries, where you can admire two of the most beautiful masterpieces of the baroque painter. Antwerp is the second largest town of Belgium, the largest port of Belgium and the second largest port of Europe. You will be pleasantly surprised by the history of the city and by the fusion of architectural styles from various periods of time. Please note : this tour can be adapted according to your available time, just ask me !

Danielle was a great tour guide. She walked with us throughout the historic and interesting areas in Antwerp (the river & cathedral mainly) sharing some history and interesting facts. She also took us to a delicious chocolate store and recommended restaurants to us for a lunch meal. Antwerp is a busy city with historic sites.

For the afternoon in Antwerp, we focused on shopping & diamonds! My wife, her parents & I visited the relatively new DIVA museum which was all about diamonds. It was a great choice & very informative. Walking along the Scheldt River, Danielle told us the history of the river & how Antwerp came to be one of the leading European ports. She knew each of the statues along Meir Street & why they were important. The tour of the Central Station is not to be missed as the building is beautiful inside & out! In the 3 main streets in front of Central Station are the diamond merchants & Danielle provided wonderful assistance in meeting with several merchants & showing us how to negotiate! She was able to coordinate a visit to a diamond-cutting artisan but we were not able to fit that visit in for this tour. Our family highly recommends Danielle as we enjoyed our week with her very much!

After touring Brussels with Danielle a few days prior, she met us in Antwerp to share her knowledge with us here. My wife and I were traveling with my in-laws & Danielle did an excellent job in interacting with each of us & keeping us informed and entertained. We had planned 2 sessions for this day (morning and afternoon) to try to cover the whole city in one day. However, as we spent longer in some museums (@Plantin-Moretus), Danielle was able to pivot to help keep us focused on enjoying the sites & filling us with great information & insight. She continued to teach me about Belgian beer, food & chocolate as we strolled the Grote Markt and Meir St. She was very knowledgeable about Rubens as we viewed his works in the Cathedral. The morning session was very enjoyable and we enjoyed lunch together as we prepared for the afternoon session. I cannot recommend Danielle highly enough!

My family and I had great fun with Danielle on our tour of Antwerp! We learned so much and had some laughs and even tried to sneak in to see the inside of the church that was being blocked off due to a lunchtime concert. Danielle is smart and spunky and I only thing that could've possibly made our day better was if my husband would've listened to her and gotten me an Antwerp diamond! But seriously, it was nice to get out of Brussels for a bit, and Danielle was the perfect guide!

Danielle met us in Brussels at our hotel and we traveled to Antwerp together. Besides all the history of the city, we were able to appreciate the social, economical, and political aspects of the area. She was a great guide and we would highly recommend her when visiting Antwerp.
