Hello my name is Shurby and I would like to say Bon Bini! (welcome in Papiamento) to my link with ToursByLocals. . As a former Merchant Navy Captain I sailed for 25 years all over the seas in this world. This experience gave me a good insight as to what the world has to offer and made me appreciate my birth island all the more. I do hope that I will have the opportunity to show you around this Happy island. Even as a child I used to travel on all of the roads of Aruba together with my father in his pick-up. This left me with a very intimate knowledge of the island and its lesser known highlights. As a child my parents took us abroad quite often to Europe and elsewhere. This again gave me a good idea of what the world has to offer and of course Aruba. Please come and be my guest and allow me to show you around Aruba. As one of the very few guides with full security clearance of the cruise terminal, I can pick you up in the port area near your ship, or at your local address. This will save you having to walk to the pedestrian exit gate. From there we can proceed to experience the beauty of this wonderful island. BTW, I AM FULLY COVID 19/CORONA VACCINATED, BOOSTER SHOTS INCLUDED!! Having travelled all over the world as a merchant navy captain for many years, I learnt to appreciate the splendour of my birth island as well as it's natural beauty. Please do come and visit the happy island and let me show you around. As we say here Bon Bini! which means Welcome! My vehicle is a 2017 air-conditioned Hyundai H1 van for maximum 7 persons, For parties up to 5 persons, all passengers will have their own window during their tour. I have T and O license plates officially recognised by the Government of Aruba and I am one of the few guides that has full security clearance to be able to pick you up and drop you off in the cruise terminal area! I do not take tours to the Natural Pool, as the road is too rough for my vehicle. There are specialised companies going there.

Superb, simply superb. Shurby knows Aruba well and is a good storyteller. He customized our day to see specific things interesting to my husband, who lived as a young boy in Aruba ages 1 to 6. Shurby is responsive and quick to detour to things we saw / wanted to know more about. We highly recommend him!
Shurby was the best and brightest!!!! He is a true and original Arubian. We saw everything except the National Park. And he knew everything about the Island and its peoples. We stopped for lunch and had fresh caught fish and shrimp cooked on the spot. Delicious! His 30 years in the Merchant Marines made him a wealth of information. I really feel like I saw Aruba and heard all of its myths and tales. He is a local and tells it like the local people live it.
This tour greatly exceeded my expectations. I saw everything I wanted to see and more. Shurby was wonderful about stopping for photos and offered so much information about the island. I would recommend this tour and Shurby to others thinking about visiting Aruba.

Our tour with Shurby was worth every penny! He was knowledgeable about the island and took us around for an amazing day of snorkeling, sightseeing at the lighthouse and Aloe company. We did a little hike up the rock formation to see a beautiful view of Aruba. Shurby took us shopping to all the right spots. Book with Shurby for a very memorable day on Aruba.
We had a great day with Shurby who took us literally from one end of Aruba to the other, including places buses could not go and sights not usually seen. Highly recommend Shurby as a guide in Aruba
Our day and the time we start the tour is flexible and is meant to accommodate your schedule and interests. Typically although not necessarily in this order, we will goin the morning and see the California lighthouse, The Aloe Vera Plantation, Alto Vista Chapel, Downtown Oranjestad, Eagle Beach and the Casibari/Ayo rock formation. In the second part of the day we will go to the other half of the island to San Nicolas, Baby Beach, Mangel Halto, Savaneta andhave lunch on the way. Should you have other interests, let me know and I will see if I can plan it in the tour for you. Please note that I do not go the Natural Pool.
