Ajib’s tour was perfect! Ajib’s English is very good and his love of Semarang shows. The plantation tour was very interesting. We saw how they score a tree so it produces rubber sap, then watched men dividing bats of sap with aluminum panels to create sheets of raw rubber, which are then dried and smoked before being bundled into large cubes for shipping. I'm sorry I live so far away, because the day spent with Ajib felt just like a day spent with a good friend. The tour of the rubber/cofee plantation was informative and well-planned, as was the hike to the Gedong Songo temple complex. Ajib was a wonderful tour guide. He had a driver, so was able to share history and answer questions while we were driving between sights. He had a lovely personality and his English was excellent. He was also flexible, adding to the itinerary that was requested. We would highly recommend him as a guide.
