I am from Flores, an island located in the eastern part of Indonesia. It is among the economically least developed parts of the country. A lack of an industrial base and raw material extracting activities, as well as the geographically marginalized position of the island are reasons for the comparatively high level of poverty. The absence of these industries and extracting enterprises, on the other hand, have had the positive effect of leaving generally pristine and untouched nature environment. With its unique culture and intriguing people, Flores draws hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists every year and plays an important role in developing tourism industry of our province. This fact encourages me to dedicate myself to helping further develop the industry by serving as a tour guide. I am a graduated student of Nusa Jaya Tourism Institute, Jakarta and have worked nine years at Celebrity Cruise Line, USA. It was there, I learnt how to please guests and be a source of satisfaction. Prior to working on the ship, I had also worked in Jayakarta-one of the finest hotels in Jakarta. And working briefly as a security guard at an American-owned pharmacy in Jakarta. Before joining Toursbylocals, I had been working as an independent tour guide. I am a person who loves to travel and has a deep sense of pleasing the guests. Being traveling companion of foreign tourists gives joy and adds excitement to the journey of my life. I love culture and nature and admire the shape of every jungle and mountain as they are parts of my life.
