A lack of an industrial base and raw material extracting activities, as well as the geographically marginalized position of the island are reasons for the comparatively high level of poverty. The absence of these industries and extracting enterprises, on the other hand, have had the positive effect of leaving generally pristine and untouched nature environment. With its unique culture and intriguing people, Flores draws hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists every year and plays an important role in developing tourism industry of our province. I am a graduated student of Nusa Jaya Tourism Institute, Jakarta and have worked nine years at Celebrity Cruise Line, USA. It was there, I learnt how to please guests and be a source of satisfaction.
