Explore Sedona your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Sedona tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Sedona for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Meet at sunrise for a guided hike on West Fork of Oak Creek to look for mule deer tracks and hummingbirds, or take a 4x4 into Broken Arrow for red rock vistas and desert plants. Your guide times stops to avoid mid-day heat and busy trailheads.

Classes and Workshops tours: Spend a half day in a pottery studio at Tlaquepaque learning hand-building, then visit a gallery with your instructor to see local techniques in use. You can also add a landscape-painting session at Crescent Moon Park with tips tailored to your level.

Photography tours: Hit favourite sunrise views at Cathedral Rock from Red Rock Crossing, then move to Airport Mesa for a bold sunset over the buttes. After dark, head to Dry Creek for Milky Way shots while your guide helps with focus and long exposures.

Getting around: Sedona is spread out, and trailheads are not clustered; the free Sedona Shuttle serves a few popular hikes but coverage is limited. It’s easy to book a chauffeured tour or ask your guide to handle driving so you can focus on the views and save time.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Sedona inside and out.

Base yourself in red rock country and use Sedona day trips to hit nearby towns, canyons, and parks in a relaxed day trip tour so you see more without rushing.

- Grand Canyon South Rim: Two hours north, the rim views and short walks along the edge make a simple plan, and your tour can focus on quiet viewpoints, geology stops, or a longer rim trail if you want extra time on foot.

- Jerome: This hillside former mining town adds history, street art, and wide Verde Valley views; cafés, small museums, and galleries keep things easy, while your tour can add Clarkdale or nearby Copper Museum if you like local stories.

- Cottonwood and Tuzigoot: Old Town Cottonwood brings tasting rooms and simple eats, then Tuzigoot National Monument gives you a compact ancient pueblo site, which suits you if you enjoy short strolls and clear context in one afternoon.

- Flagstaff and Walnut Canyon: Pine forests, Route 66 history, and an easy loop at Walnut Canyon’s rim make a varied day, and your tour can lean into astronomy, historic districts, or cliff dwelling viewpoints based on your interests.
