Colca Valley: It is a big area surrounded by many mountains, the Colca river and the famous Colca canyon, it's one of the deepest in the world with a depth of 4160 meters or 13600 feet. The Colca Valley is a so colorful Andean valley with pre-Inca roots, and towns founded in Spanish colonial times, still inhabited by people of the Collagua and the Cabana (pre inca cultures) the local people is still wearing the typical dresses, its really amazing. It's possible to see an active volcano from Patapampa the highest route in south America and the Mismi mountain where it's the Amazon river source, there are many hot springs and they are excellent to swim. The travellers really enjoy each place because it is so different and many attractions are together. It's one of the most famous destination in Perú, Also it is possible to appreciate the second biggest flying bird in the world, the Andean Condor, they are flying around the visitors in the famous Condor Cross.

My husband and I spent two wonderful days with Rene and our driver, Jesus. We modified the tour to spend a few hours in Arequipa before heading to the Colca Valley. Rene is very knowledgable and knew the best places to view the volcano (we saw it erupt!), the condors, the pre-Incan terraces, and where we could interact with llamas and alpacas. I was able to hold a one day old llama! He kindly bought bread and bananas to take to poor school children high in the Andes. We highly recommend traveling with Rene! He's knowledgable, friendly, and will take great care of you!
Rene was great guide - arranged everything - driver was great as well. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with, @ of the party arrived late due to airline screw ups and he easily made accommodations, Highly recommend
Rene is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and caring. Late December traditionally isn't the perfect time to spot condors, and when my family visited the Cruz Del Condor, it was very foggy so we couldn't see anything. That said, Rene drove us to another place at which we were able to spot a handful of condors flying and gliding thru the air... The day before our trip, he called me many times to let me know the road situation. I feel lucky to have him to be our guide.
excellent guide and excellent tour, we learned and saw a lot thanks to Rene, we definitely would book him again when returning to Peru.
Rene was extremely helpful in advance to provide tour scheduling options to visit my target places and the recommended way to do it given my need to acclimatize at altitude. Asa result we added an extra day to the tour and it turned out to be so necessary. Rene delivered well on all the tour points expected and was chatty with additional pertinent data on his laptop. The van and driver (Elder) arranged by Rene were quality.
Day 1, 08:00 or agreed starting time: We take our private transport to Chivay, we will stop on the route to appreciate the landscape, we will see Vicuñas (they have the finest fiber in the world) Lamas and Alpacas, we are going to stop at a Restaurant to drink a Coca tea, it is excellent for the mountain illness, our highest point will be 4910 masl. We come back to the hotel and at 19:00 we will participate in a folkloric show, typical dances from the Colca Valley and the dinner in this restaurant. Sleeping time. 2nd day, 06:00 or later: Breakfast and we go to the Condor cross, we will stop at some viewpoints to appreciate the pre-Inca terraces, small towns, and the Canyon, we are going to have enough time in the Condor cross to wait for the Condors.
