Arequipa: It's located at 2325 masl, in the desert mountains of the Andes. This is the second most important city in Peru. The Plaza de Armas is the most beautiful in the country. The magnificent Cathedral and the more colonial building styles. This beautiful city is practically built in volcanic white tuff (sillar). This is why Arequipa is called the White City. More than one million inhabitants. With an excellent weather, it's possible to see many types of products from the agriculture in the local market, local business and the delicious typical food. In this tour is to have a good time to relax, we have enough time for lunch or any coffee, it could be in the morning or in the afternoon'.
Our half-day Arequipa city tour with Rene was great! Rene was extremely communicative prior to our meeting which we really appreciated. The tour itself was excellent - we visited all the sights and spent some time in the local market. Rene was very engaging and informative. He was also very helpful when it came to purchasing souvenirs. We had a great day with Rene and I would HIGHLY recommend him when visiting Arequipa.
Rene was very knowledgeable and gave an entertaining tour. 3 teenagers can be a tough crowd, but they were kept interested by varying the sights- markets and views, between churches and museums. He gave us a delicious recommendation for lunch after, too. His English was great. The only part that got tedious was on the museum tour he put us on, the guide gave the tour in Spanish and in English which made it a little long.
Rene was fantastic! He knows everything about his hometown, Arequipa and took me and 3 friends on one of our best tours ever! He designed the tour so we that we walked (downhill) by beautiful architecture, stopping to see historical sites and quaint shops - stopping wherever we fancied. We had the most authentic and delicious lunch, as well as, a terrific tour of the monastery. It was a wonderful, perfectly paced day. Rene listened to all of our interests, being flexible throughout-everyone loved it!
Very organized and efficient tour, very detailed attention. Rene was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of history and cultural aspects of Arequipa very well. The picanteria lunch spot Rene recommended was amazing.
Rene was great! This was the last tour we booked during our trip to Peru and it was a great way to finish off our trip. Rene has a great sense of humor and is VERY informative. It's very clear he loves Arequipa and is excited to share the history. He was willing to customize our tour and recommended some of the best restaurants we dined at during our whole trip. We would definitely recommend Rene to anyone who is traveling to Arequipa and wants to know more about the history in a fun and informative manor
Renee met us on time, had a driver for part of the tour and showed us several things around the city and in the main square. He spoke great English so no communication issues.

Cathedral: Considered the most beautiful Cathedral in Peru, it was built in 1621. Santa Catalina Convent: It was founded in 1580, this area is 20 000 mts2, it is one of the most fascinating religious buildings in Peru, there were 400 nuns until 1970 when the Monastery was closed. Jesuits cloister and Church: It was built in 1698, it is one of the most representative monuments in the 17th-century religious architecture. San Ignacio Chapel: A beautiful polychromatic chapel. San Camilo Local market: Designed by Gustav Eifel, the 1st local market. Colonial streets: to appreciate colonial houses and old streets. Santuarios Andinos museum: its to appreciate one of the most conserved mummy in the world, her name is JUANITA.
