O'zbekistonga xush kelibsiz! Welcome to Uzbekistan a land of friendly people! My name is Olimjon and I will be your local tour guide in Nukus, Karakalpakstan, a northwestern part of Uzbekistan. Touring with me you will get to know Uzbekistan in full size, our culture and traditions, our history and legends, our food and people, you will get to know all of it while visiting touristic attractive places, such as Aral seashore, Muynak ship cemetery, ancient Khorezm fortresses and Khiva. I am an avid traveler and I love to travel and to meet new cultures, I have been in +20 countries so far and I have new plans where to go next. In everyday life, I love playing tennis, whenever I can, and besides enjoying playing tennis I teach tourism subjects to students at the local university. I am a researcher focusing on water, energy, agriculture, tourism topics of Central Asia with interdisciplinary approach with project background on renewable energy, biogas technologies, public healthcare in Uzbekistan while my publications discuss problems on energy economics, sustainable tourism, public-private partnership. So far, I have been working with various projects of intergovernmental organizations (i. e. , UNDP, UNESCO, UNEP) and financial institutions (i. e. , World Bank, ADB, EBRD) in Uzbekistan. But besides my academic profession and my love for tennis, guiding is my true passions. I started with tour guiding in 2013 as I love my country and I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences with people who are coming to Uzbekistan. Since 2016 Uzbekistan is achieving significant growth in inbound tourism and we all are very happy to know that more and more people are discovering our homeland as a new tourist destination. Regarding tours, I can say that my favourite tour is to the Aral seashore which is a very quiet zone to relax and forget daily urban problems. If you visit the Aral Sea, you will discover extreme and desert tourism showing rural lifestyles with unique climatic conditions, but I would like to hear your thoughts, your questions in order to help you to make the perfect tour that will be customized only for you and your personal interests. Don't hesitate to contact me and to join me in discovering my ancient and beautiful homeland. I would be glad to meet you in Uzbekistan! Faculty of Tourism and Economics, Researcher at Urgench State University, Licensed Tour Guide No Restrictions

Overview of your Khiva tour

Meet Karakalpakstan with your Local Guide, its customs and traditions, traditional culture of nomadic husbandry and everyday lifestyles of its inhabitants but also hear the story of the Aral Sea, once the fourth largest lake in the world that has now shrunk to the tenth of its original size! You will get a chance to get hands-on with Karakalpak crafts and yurt making and you will see and meet the locals outside of the cities. Real-life and real people who are living in the unique environment of the almost disappeared Aral Sea. Mighty rivers of Amu Darya and Sir Darya were feeding Aral Sea for centuries before they were diverted to irrigate the desert in an attempt to grow cotton or "white gold" how it was called back then but also for growing melons, rice and cereals. Join me on a journey about life, Russian avant-guard art collection in Savitsky Museum and experience western Uzbekistan from a local perspective, and enjoy in traditional Uzbek hospitality.
