Greetings from Scotland! I live in between Edinburgh and St Andrews and I don't mean in the middle of the North Sea. I am just fortunate to have bases in these two beautiful cities. Born in Edinburgh where I worked most of my life, I attended the University of St Andrews and even managed to scrape into the University golf team. I have now laid down roots there, as a golf caddie, journalist and becoming a tour guide. I had a restaurant in Edinburgh and am a bit of a foodie. This is a high priority on my tours. At least to point you in the direction of the best bars and restaurants. So I consider myself to be an Edinburgher and a St Andrean too. I am very lucky. I have rather eclectic interests and my party-piece is reciting Robert Burns's epic poem Tam O'Shanter which I can do for you over a wee dram ! On me ! I would love to show you around this wonderful part of Scotland and all that it has to offer. Its marvellous architecture, breathtaking scenery, cobbled wynds and cosy bars, characters and cathedrals and castles. But let's be sure to have fun. Twenty years of experience of working in hospitality has taught me to have that as the cornerstone of my tours. I have been a ski guide in the Alps, a golf instructor in Spain, a florist, a restaurateur, a golf writer (check out the kilted caddie blog!) and a somewhat caddie on the St Andrews Links. But now I have found my real forte. It's in entertaining people and showing them the places that I really know and love. So now, I look forward to meeting you all too. I hope! Please note that I am not a driver. I undertake walking tours only. Thanks and looking forward to meeting you in Scotland!

St Andrews made a huge impression upon me when I came here as a student. It is a mesmerising place. And I now consider myself to be a true St Andrews local having been here the last ten years and having worked as a caddie on the famous Old Course. It is the ultimate golf mecca. It's not just the golf that brings people here though but its pivotal place in scottish history, its medieval charm, world class university, restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches. This tour will take you around the major places of interest in this most unique city.
Meet at your hotel or Rusacks Hotel reception in St Andrews. Of course this tour can be customised. But as an example we would: - Visit the Old Course and stand on the iconic Swilcan Bridge. We are in the golf mecca of the world. - Walk up to the Castle and Cathedral - Visit all the old colleges of the University - Walk around the medieval town and hear about its history and characters
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
