As a Blue Badge Guide and an accredited member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding I have the expertise and knowledge to give you an informative and memorable introduction to this unique and special region known as Wessex. Being passionate about the English landscape and its history, both ancient and modern, I am fortunate to live in the beautiful county of Dorset as well as having a house in the magnificent medieval city of Salisbury. This region has so much to offer from the Unesco World Heritage Neolithic sites of Stonehenge and Avebury, Iron Age Hill Forts, Roman villas, Saxon towns, Norman churches and castles. The medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, Tudor halls, Georgian estates and Victorian mansions, not to forget the landscape itself. From the Unesco Jurassic Coast, through Wessex where Thomas Hardy was inspired to write his enduring novels, the Royal hunting reserve of Cranborne Chase and the rolling plains of Wiltshire. My aim is to share my enthusiasm and to give insights into the iconic buildings, places and events with which this region is so richly populated and which played such a major part in English History. .
