Overview of your Dorset tour
A pleasant drive through the idyllic southern english countryside, gently rolling hills and patchwork fields brings us to Bovington Military camp, the headquarters of the Royal Armoured Corps and once the site of tank crew training during World War I. As well as being Dorset's largest indoor attraction, The Tank Museum holds the broadest and most historically significant collection of tanks (over 300!) in the world, including the first working prototype tank and the world's only running Tiger I. The museum tells the story of tanks and the men who served in them through powerful exhibitions and interactive displays. Returning to the port we pass through the quaint easide town of Weymouth, King George III's favourite holiday destination and usually we have time for some views of the dramatic Jurassic Coast. **Half day tour** around 5hrs but we could easily combine this tour with another amazing attraction closeby such as Jurassic Coast Walk or the Romantic Ruin of Corfe Castle. *See my other tours
