My name is Niran, and I also have an English name, Tony, that it might be easier for you to call me. I organise all kind of nature and city tours in Chiang Rai. I was born in a small village in the southern of Chiang Rai city, as a son of a rice farmer family I learned from my parents. After the primary school, I entered the temple to become a novice monk to learn Buddhism and continually went to study in Bangkok. I was ordained to become a monk after the novice when I gained 20 years old and studied in the Buddhist university. During those times, besides my study at the university, I went to the famous temples (wat) to meet and practice English with tourists who came from all around the world. This made me love travelling, showing and share stories with people from the different culture and countries. When I returned to a Layman and went back to my hometown Chiang Rai, I have been a tour guide till the present. Chiang Rai is my hometown, located in the northern most province in Thailand which connects with Myanmar and Laos. The province is rich of history, nature and culture - from local Lanna people and multi-ethnic groups -who mainly live in the mountainous areas. There are nice places for sunset and sunrise, famous mountains that tribe people live and grow a world famous coffee and tea, some traditional villages where you could spend overnight, cook and eat like those uniquely local styles. I conduct nature and city tours, also trekking, cycling, sightseeing and some other kind of tours that you might personally request upon your time and interest. An unforgettable two days with Tony meandering thru all the sights and sounds of Chiangrai. An off-road excursion to watch the sunset from a cliff top under the watchful eye an abandoned Buddha statue was mesmerising. The scenic drive to Chiangmai on the final leg just gave the journey the perfect final touch.
Niran and I communicated frequently for several months prior to designing the trip that catered to everything I wanted to do and see in Chiang Rai. Once I arrived, he went above and beyond by making several phone calls to connect with people and ensure that my trip was better than I could have ever imagined! Niran genuinely cared about ensuring that I had the best possible experience in Chiang Rai. I got to visit many unique and charming villages in addition to the main attractions. I was extremely gratef
We just completed to days with Niran (Tony). Tony was an excellent guide through the history, culture and geography of the Chiang Rai and Geldern Triangle area. He was very adaptable to our requests and at the same time kept us on a schedule that maximized our experience in this area.
Touring through Chiang Rai with Tony was one of the highlights of our trip. He is a relaxed and gentle person and he took good care of us. We went to Mae Salong, various tea plantations and a lovely hill tribe village, finishing off at the blue temple at night (spectacular). The next day he showed us the highlights in and around Chiang Rai city. He also loves good coffee and knows where to find it (also in the middle of nowhere: best cappuccino of the entire holiday).
