My name is Niran, and I also have an English name, Tony, that it might be easier for you to call me. I organise all kind of nature and city tours in Chiang Rai. I was born in a small village in the southern of Chiang Rai city, as a son of a rice farmer family I learned from my parents. After the primary school, I entered the temple to become a novice monk to learn Buddhism and continually went to study in Bangkok. I was ordained to become a monk after the novice when I gained 20 years old and studied in the Buddhist university. During those times, besides my study at the university, I went to the famous temples (wat) to meet and practice English with tourists who came from all around the world. This made me love travelling, showing and share stories with people from the different culture and countries. When I returned to a Layman and went back to my hometown Chiang Rai, I have been a tour guide till the present. Chiang Rai is my hometown, located in the northern most province in Thailand which connects with Myanmar and Laos. The province is rich of history, nature and culture - from local Lanna people and multi-ethnic groups -who mainly live in the mountainous areas. There are nice places for sunset and sunrise, famous mountains that tribe people live and grow a world famous coffee and tea, some traditional villages where you could spend overnight, cook and eat like those uniquely local styles. I conduct nature and city tours, also trekking, cycling, sightseeing and some other kind of tours that you might personally request upon your time and interest. Overview of your Chiang Rai tour

With this tour I will get you know how the local tribe villages live, visit the market, the bamboo-teak forests. I was born in a small village as well so I can answer all your curiosities and better let you feel the pleasant atmosphere of these places. We will explore a side of the forest, see a rice field and swim in the waterfall. To get the most of the experience, we will cook in a tribal bamboo house and have lunch there. Do not miss this experience!

Tony was a super tour guide. He was able to formulate a tour for us based on a message we sent him and then suggested his ideas for a second day of touring (visiting and having a meal with a local hill tribe). When our flight was canceled and we missed out on our first day in Chiang Rai where we had planned to see some things on our own, he was able to revamp our tour the next day to include those things that we had missed. He was able to provide the perfect amount of information about the places we visited - not too in depth but enough so that we understood the history and significance of what we were seeing. He was also able to give us suggestions on what to do in the evenings after he left us - seemed like both nights we were there they had different streets where they had a once weekly street food market which were both a lot of fun and included music but we actually ended up eating all of our meals at the "every night" food market which had tons of chairs and tables set up so that you could get your food and then sit down and eat it. We got food from different vendors each night and it was all good. They also had live entertainment and there was a permanent market selling just about everything located right next to the night food market. We would definitely use Tony again if we came back to Chiang Rai.

Niran was a fantastic guide. We had a long list of places we wanted to see. Niran organized them to maximize our time. He was friendly and spoke good English. He explained about the places we went but didn’t ramble on and on. We would highly recommend Niran as a tour guide!

Our guide Niran was great. He was waiting for us at the airport, his car was clean and comfortable. He was very knowledgable, his english was great and he even recommended and took us to a delicious local lunch restaurant and showed us where to go for dinner after he dropped us off. We highly recommend him!

We had a wonderful day witb Tony visiting the Black House, Choui Fong tea plantation, Thamluang cave, Golden Triangle, White Temple, Huay Plakag temple and Blue Temple. He even took us to have lunch at a local restaurant famous for their Khao Sai soi soup. It was a full day, but I highly recommend this itinerary and using Tony as your tour guide. He was great!

Niran was a superb guide, knowledgable, friendly and a pleasure to be with. Our experience at the Lawa village was truly memorable and delicious. Maybe the best food we have had in Northern Thailand. Would recommend this tour to any and all adventurers, but not for the timid! Thank you Niran!
