Hi, my name is Marco and I have made my life where I was born: in Cáceres, World Heritage City in the wild and stirring region of Extremadura. Passionately committed to explaining both city and region to visitors, I was educated at Extremadura University in Cáceres and at St Andrew's University in Scotland. Son of a guide, I expect to be fully qualified as a guide to my own city and to Extremadura at large, also to do a customised tour for you. I am well versed in history, art and architecture and have a keen appreciation of the issues of the present day. My offering hopes to be rich and delivered with intelligence and humour. I have travelled widely in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania. As a linguist, I am able to conduct tours not only in Spanish and English, but also in French, Italian and Portuguese. I try to be sensitive to the differing needs of each language group, to differing levels of appreciation and to each individual. Nobody will feel neglected or 'talked down to'. I can also help you to shop, wine, dine and find the best restaurants in town. With its huge history of Romans, Arabs and Conquistadors, Extremadura is one of the most delightful and impressive parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Rich in magnificent small towns and monuments, it exudes a sense of the remote and different. I will try that time with me will always be time well spent. Official guide of the region of Extremadura. Languages achieved at the local Language School: English, French, Italian & Portuguese. None.

Did you know that Cáceres was one of the very few towns in the Kingdom of Castile with two Jewish quarters ? It is one of the most beautiful areas of the city within the walls. We will discover the current neighborhood of San Antonio de la Quebrada, which retains today a large part of the structure and the typism it used to have when it was populated by Jews. We can find beauty and uniqueness of the Old Jewish Quarter of Cáceres. Narrow streets; whitewashed, bright houses; and the flowers in its windows or on the balconies only compare to the monumental nobility of this millenary city. The route from the New Jewish Quarter, on the other side of the Plaza Mayor, also offers the opportunity to visit, following the medieval footsteps of its Hebrew neighbors, a good part of this World Heritage City. Join me through this unique journey!
-Palace of La Isla, where the new Jewish quarter synagogue was erected, -Cruz Street, - Main Square, -Cuesta del Marqués, -Arco del Cristo, -San Antonio Church (old synagogue), -Torre de los Pozos and back to the Main Square. I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences, please contact me for a customized tour.
