Annyeonghaseyo! This is Seowoo, who will serve as your guide for your Korea tour. If you are not familiar with Korean pronunciation, you are welcome to call me Brian. I was born in Seoul and have lived in Busan since I was 14 years old. I have worked in the tourism sector for nearly 15 years, with 4 years of experience as a private tour guide. I primarily operate in Busan, but I also conduct private tours in nearby cities such as Gimhae, Ulsan, Gyeongju, and Pohang. To introduce Busan, the city I primarily cover, it is the second-largest city in Korea and is home to the Port of Busan—the seventh-largest port in the world—which handles 75% of our country's exports and imports. Busan’s growth into the nation’s second-largest city was driven by refugees who settled there after the Korean War and by local residents; together, they overcame poverty and put their utmost effort into working in their respective fields. As we tour the eastern and western parts of Busan, I will explain how the city has grown and where the driving force behind that growth originated. In addition to Busan, I also offer tours of Gyeongju—Silla’s thousand-year-old capital and a representative city of Korea’s ancient history—and Pohang, where the country’s largest steelworks coexist with the natural environment.
