NOTE : A CERTIFICATE TOURIST GUIDE has been educated in a higher education level for at least 3 years in order to be able to present in an accurate way all the historical facts and bring to life the history of each place, connecting it with life in modern Portugal , when offer his/her services to the visitors. Choosing to have a guided tour with an officially licensed tourist guide will enhance your experience and provide an in depth presentation. Also the history of each place will be connected that way with the other sites you may visit, so you will have at the end a complete experience while touring around Portugal. No restrictions. As a Certified Guide I can tour anywhere in Portugal including driving and touring at the same time.

Are you looking for a relaxed day out of Lisbon? Only an hour driving southeast, Évora is a personal regular destination since my husbands family live here! To drive there is a perfect way to enjoy the views of cork fields, the cattle grazing, the vineyards, the whitewashed houses recalling us an Arabs heritage that never left. The walled city as been under the guardianship of UNESCO since the 80's! The smooth pace of the locals reminds us to just lay back and enjoy a stroll along the white streets and squares scattered with Romans temples, medieval cathedrals and churches. Now, no day in the Alentejo region can come to an end without a wine taste! As a wine connoisseur my goal is to show you how marvelous our (still) unknown wines can be. Join me on a tour to one of the most prestigious wine estates of the country and I'm sure you'll follow in love with our varieties!
Matilde gave us a wonderful tour - she was able to give us so much information and insights into Évora and the region since she is well connected there. She also took us to a great winery and showed us interesting cork oak and olive groves. She is a delightful person and we highly recommend her as a tour guide.
Absolutely fantastic tour and tour guide! Matilde (Matti) was a wonderful host and we felt immediately comfortable with her. Matti was thoroughly knowledgeable and she provided a rich cultural and historical context for all the sites we visited. Traveling the back roads to Evora was a wonderful. The wine tasting at the Fitapreta vineyard is not to be missed. After 100+ tours/tour guides over the years, Matti was one of the very best guides we have ever had. Do miss the opportunity to tour with her!

Wow what a fantastic time with Matilde. She was very responsive & flexible in coordinating the tour for my family. She arrived early to pick us up and right away we knew we were in good hands. She has a very nice car & the ride to Evora was a very pleasant drive. While at Evora, she was extremely knowledgeable about all the sites we visited & we truly enjoyed our day trip with her. Matilde is very organized, thoughtful, and a true professional who takes her job very seriously. I highly recommend her.
Matilda was very professional, highly informed (erudite but delightful with it), and met all our expectations! Our day started with the tour of a wine estate which met a special request of ours to also view Lusitano horses - giving us a tour by the estate owner of his fields and stables and a tasting of his award-winning wines and then we were off to an in-depth tour of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Excellent guide - lovely day!!
My wife and I used Matilde three days in a row. We hit the "jack pot"!!! Charming, knowledgeable, entertaining and fun to be around. She is the perfect choice for a small group tour guide.
Leaving Lisbon we drive one hour and a half towards Évora enjoying the southern landscape. As we arrive we'll start the walking tour (cobbled but flat, suitable for most walkers) covering this world heritage city center and its main monuments such as the Roman Temple, San Francis Church and its Bones Chapel, the University from the 16th century and the main streets and squares of the city. Lunch time in a local restaurant to try the local delicacies (the unique black pork, sausages, cheese, mushrooms and others). After lunch we have a 20 minute ride towards a local wine estate (Monte da Ravaqueira or Fita Preta ).
