Hi! I am Gaby Yaz and I come from "the land of chocolate" in Chiapas, located in the farthest corner of Mexico. I am a Historian and a Tour Guide. I worked as a teacher for a few years at different levels both in rural and urban settings. I love academia but I also love the outdoors, and I realized that becoming a Tour Guide I could combine traveling and sharing my knowledge about History and Archaeology, as well as connect to nature and with people from all over the world. Chiapas has a remarkably interesting history linked to its location and natural resources. I will be glad to show this land, which I love, so you can have a better understanding and enjoyment of local culture and traditions. I will also be glad to take you to authentic destinations where you can appreciate all the beauty that this land has to offer: amazing natural wonders, parks, protected areas and natural reserves, colonial cities and buildings, local museums and cuisine. When possible, I will take you to little-known indigenous communities, local cooperatives, gastronomic and artisan workshops to contribute to local economy and tourist culture and promote a tourism that benefits all. Of course, these tourist destinations, will be adapted to today's needs and in tune with the necessary security measures for both you and host communities. For me, Chiapas is one of those places that stimulates our senses naturally. It has the scent of raindrops on dry earth, of pine needles getting dry on the ground, of copal incense and candles. Everywhere you look you will find something that catches your eye: a colourful building, a beautiful piece of traditional fabric, a curious handicraft, or a multi-coloured dish. This is the place where the breath of wind that exhales from caves, the waterfalls' endless energy, and the strong wingbeat of hummingbirds and thousands of other tropical birds will make you feel alive. It would be my genuine pleasure help you having unique experiences and get the best out of your stay in Mexico. - BA degree in History. Overview of your San Andres Larrainzar tour

Join me on a journey into the heart of Larráinzar, where every thread, flavor, and natural color tells a story. I’ll introduce you to the living textile traditions of the Tzotzil Maya community, from ancestral weaving techniques and symbolic designs to contemporary creations that keep tradition evolving. We’ll meet local women artisans, discover the fascinating world of natural dyes, and learn how plants and forest resources are sustainably used for both dyeing and traditional medicine. We’ll also share time with a local family, helping prepare and enjoy a delicious meal made with organic ingredients—a chance to experience the warmth and flavors of everyday life in the community. More than a visit, this is an invitation to connect with Larráinzar through its people, creativity, knowledge, and traditions.
