I am Bertrand, a professional and approved guide in Madagascar. I started to work as a guide in 2011. It was the year when I started my university as well. I studied natural sciences. Then, I discovered that the latter and the tour guide are linked and help each other. When I got my master's degree in 2016, I decided to continue to work as a tour guide. I am able to make all kinds of natural tours, such as ecotourism, birdwatching, fauna and flora discovering…. Moreover, I was born and raised in Mahajanga. I know the history and culture of my region very well. While on my duty, I consider myself an ambassador of Madagascar because tour guiding is a passion. Furthermore, I discover in my Mahajanga lots of amazing tourist attractions, but they are not well-known. Our sites are natural and still intact: national park, the Cirque Rouge canyon, second largest cave of Anjohibe, primary forest of Mariarano, sacred lakes, the mangrove swamp, biocultural site of Antrema, second largest lake of the island, Arab village of 16th century… Sometimes I take part in cruise ship excursions in Mahajanga. However, I aim to promote my region as a fantastic new tourist destination. So I invite everyone to join me and discover together the secret of my region in a five-star experience. All my tours can be customized; please feel free to contact me if you have any questions - National tour guide approval - Master's degree of earth and environment sciences NONE

This expedition explores the Anjohibe complex, Africa's second-largest cave system, characterized by massive limestone karst formations and subterranean galleries featuring stalactites exceeding 10 meters in length. Beyond its geological significance, the site serves as a vital archaeological and cultural landmark; visitors can observe original clay pottery used by the Sakalava people when the caves functioned as a strategic refuge during the colonial era. As an active "Doany" or sacred site, the journey begins with a traditional ritual to honor ancestral spirits. The dry savanna gives way to a permanent waterfall and the "Andree" natural swimming pool. This habitat also supports diverse wildlife, including the endemic Coquerel’s Sifaka lemur and specialized mangrove bird species.
