My name is Motlatsi: I have been in the tour guide sector since 2006. I have a strong background in Electronics and Information Technology (IT), having been train in the United Kingdom in Electronics and IT training in South Africa. Spent most of the time in customer service providing technical and software support. Have been travelling to several countries both on my IT business and on tours during family vacations. This is where the interest for dealing with tourists came about. Then in 2006, 2007 and 2009 I attended several training programs in tour guiding. Since then I have had tourists from all over the world. Notably from, USA, South America, UK, Germany, Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand, Georgia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, China, Indonesia, several African Countries, etc. For me this is the most fulfilling work I have ever done all my life. I get to meet people with different cultural backgrounds, different personalities. It makes me more of a human being than anything. What I like most is dealing with small groups, like family or a few friends as it gives me an opportunity to provide a personalized service. I got training by Drum Beat Academy in South Africa in 2007 and qualified as a Nature Guide for the areas of Freestate Province and the Kingdom of Lesotho. Accredited as guide by the Freestate Government - Registration No. FS0045. Also received training in 2009 at SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association). My vehicle is not wheelchair friendly, but I can hire one if you let me know at least two weeks in advance.

I conduct this tour which is for people who love nature like me. Each time I have come to this place in the last ten years, I always feel overwhelmed by the emotions. Along the way, we visit the educational centre of Roma with history from arrival of missionaries in the 19th century. I will provide the highlights of the different schools as we travel through Roma Valley. Traverse through the valleys and vistas with natural beauty. We stop a few times to take photos of the beautiful mountains, including "Thabana-li-Mmele", the twin mountains shaped like teats on a chest. Semonkong is home of the unique waterfall only found in Lesotho. - time permitting, visit Thaba-Bosiu and city tour.

Motlatsi is great! I had only one day in Lesotho, and he made sure that I make the most of it, by customising the tour to my needs. The car was very clean and comfortable, Motlatsi himself is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure there is much more to see in Lesotho, but the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking, and will definitely remain the main highlight of the trip for me! Thank you Motlatsi, and hopefully see you again some day!
The tour was great. Motlatsi is the perfect guide to explore the beautiful country of Lesotho. He is very nice and funny and has a great knowledge about Lesotho. The trip involves some driving but Motlatsi gave us a lot of background knowledge about the area and also some funny stories. He is a great driver and we always felt safe during the trip. The Maletsunyane Falls as the highlight of the tour are absolutely stunning. We totally recommend doing this trip :)
Motlatsi was the most excellent guide! We had an amazing trip and can't stop talking about how great the experience was. We hope to come back just to do another trip with Motlatsi! This tour is a must do!
Motlatsi was an incredible tour guide! He picked us up from the airport and drove us to Semonkong to see the Maletsunyane Falls. He was able to give us lots of information on the ~2 hour trip through the countryside. The sights were breathtaking, never a dull moment. He was very accommodating to our needs arranging for us a horseback ride and stay at Semonkong Lodge. We were only with him for a short time, but he made it all the more memorable. Thank you for an amazing Lesotho experience! Choose Motlatsi!
Early morning, depart from Maseru and travel east to Semonkong (called the Place of Smoke). All because of the waterfall which forms a rainbow smoke when it hits the bottom - in summer and autumn. This is especially true during the rainy season - during the months of Feb to April (bearing in mind the challenges of climate change). Go through the place called Roma, the centre of education with different levels and kinds of schools, incl. the university, seminaries, nursing college primary to high schools. Lunch will be at local restaurant (not included in the tour price). Enjoy the scenic beauty of this route which goes along the front range of the Maluti mountains. Tour the waterfall area. Time permitting, visit Thaba-Bosiu and Qiloane mountain to trace the Basotho history & invention of Basotho Hat; finally abbreviated tour of Maseru City NOTE: Minimal walking from top view point to closer view point (approximately 300m). Any special request you may have, do not hesitate to ask.
