Luang Prabang full day tour - Life on the Mekong

Today you will explore the villages and livelihoods of the locals living off of the Mekong River.
Transferred to the boat pier to board a traditional longtail boat.
Visit three historic temples Wat Xieng Mene, Wat Chomphet and Wat Long Khoune.
Board the boat and head downstream to the village of Ban Jan.
Take a walk around to observe this village which is centuries old and known for their production of pottery.
Afterwards, head further down river and take in the lush hilltops and serene river while on the less traveled stretch of the Mekong.
Stop at Fishing Village, transfer to one of the local families' fishing boats to join them as they check traps.
You will then return to your long tail boat for a picturesque coast while you enjoy some traditional Lao dishes prepared right on the boat by the boat driver's wife.
Finally, stop at last village stop
You will then join your village hosts' home for a Lao baci ceremony.
After the ceremony you will travel up river back to Luang Prabang around sunset time.

Wat Phra Bat Tai is honoured by the small Vietnamese community of Luang Prabang as their temple, and services are in Vietnam and Laos. It was originally called Wat Keo, when it was just a wooden temple built in the 17th century.

The original sim of Wat Keo burnt down in 1833. The present temple complex, now renamed Wat Phra Bat Tai, is distinctly Vietnamese in style.
