Luang Prabang is the first world heritage in Laos, this town full of culture, scenery, site between Mekong and the Khan Rivers, good to visit, because It's the old French colonial town. Member Since: 18 Aug 2005 Credentials: I was completed the tourism training and have got the certificate and license from the ministry of tourism.

We had a wonderful day with Vong, full of interesting information, lovely nature, lots of historical and religious facts. He was very flexible when we changed the itinerary in accord with our wishes and abilities. He replied fast via email making our trip planning easy. We loved this tour; Vong is the best! He is very friendly, proficient in English and very knowledgeable about the Lao history, culture and sights. Communicating is easy and clear. He offered some great tips for dinner and things to do by ourselves. We very much appreciated Vong's flexibility to adapt the itinerary to our wishes and incidental opportunities at a relaxed pace. Vong was an outstanding guide—he was highly proficient in English, extremely knowledgeable about history particularly relating to the USA, and gave us a very thorough understanding of the culture and anthropology of the region. Vong was very friendly, answered all of our questions and gave a great description of the current affairs in LP and Laos. The boat ride on the Mekong River was wonderful and was the highlight of our tour. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely day with Vong and the in town tour was very informative and enjoyable. The afternoon was almost all traveling by river to Ou Cave - a bit too much time for one site. Restaurant he recommended for lunch was perfect. Maybe more sites in town would have been preferable. Vong's English was excellent.

After breakfast explore around Luang Prabang…and you will understand why it deserves the World Heritage title! stop to Visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa. The rounded dome is stylistically more Sinhalese than Lao. Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. See also the impressive "tree of life" mosaic here. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana. Then visit the National Museum. After Lunch then we start our Mekong boat trip to Pak Ou cave on the way stop at Ban Xanghai for walking around the village to understand the local life and whisky making from the rice.
